I wrote last week about feeling awful with my head and eyes and face and nose and feeling awful which the doctor told me is sinusitis. Im feeling alittle better but got a constant runny nose! And one day I’m fine and today again I’m feeling so tired with my head and eyes in pain. Family members say it’s hayfever but I can’t have both can I?
It's all connected. There is an intricate plumbing system in your air passages which can create mucus, which your body has to store or get rid of.
I take 10mg of citrazine ( Cetrine) per day. This is an antihistamine that helps dry up the effects of hayfever and lessens the mucous in the sinuses.
The danger for me is post nasal drip, which can carry infection into my upper respiratory tract and possibly lead to pneumonia or worse ( I jest🤧)
However, in these Covid19 times, the sooner such ailments are nailed, the better.
Apart from the antihistamine, I take zinc, vit C and vit D. Which all help strengthen the immune system.
There are other things to try, such as nasal irrigation which is disgusting ,but very effective and satisfying in cleanig out the sinuses. And sprays to sniff up the nostril.
Paracetamol is good for pain. Sinus can give rise to horrible headaches.
Gentle Massage and lying sideways helps drain the sinuses as well
There was a lot I learnt from there and yes the headaches are horrible. I don’t take any vit tablets that could help the immune system like you do. Yes paracetamol is the only painkiller I’ve been having. Lying sideways helps u said? Il try that tonight !
Did the doc give you an antibiotic? Most persistent sinusitis is bacterial and may respond to Augmentin or other antibiotics. It often starts with allergies which cause congestion and block normal sinus drainage. Give your doc a call and let him know you're not getting better.
