Hi everyone.
I'm writing because I suspect that I am suffering a CSF fluid leak but need help. I will first start with all of my symptoms, please comment down below if you have experienced any of these in relation to a CSF leak:
- When leaning forward A watery substance flows from my left nostril only. It has the consistency of water and I cannot control it or stop it from coming out.
- I am suffering what I can only describe as small seizures particularly in the morning and night. It feels as though my brain is being "pushed", "flipped" with immense pressure but no pain.
- I suffer pain around my eye sockets especially when moving my eyes. My vision is blurry and "squiggly". Light also hurts my eyes can can trigger the sensation in my head.
- My nose and ears "click"
I have visited the GP twice and both sides they have dismissed it as sinusitis as I have a history of the condition. However I know it is different this time as sinusitis makes a very thick, green discharge come out of my nose and does not give me dizziness and aura sensations in my head. The symptoms are getting worse and today a large amount of fluid came out of my nose. Is there anything I can do to convince them to carry out further tests? Would it be worth trying to catch the fluid for a sample to be taken? Has anyone ever tried the "paper bag trick"? This problem has been ongoing for two weeks and I have not suffered an injury and there is no obvious reason why a leak should occur. I do have chronic sinusitis and wondered if the pressure of this condition could have caused a leak. Any advice would be great please!!
