hi new to this pain problem

I am on other health conditions on here

But need help with dosage and long term use of oramorph and what health problems it brings on

I just been told that my Gp has been overdosing me seriously and that I am lucky to be alive they have been prescribing me it for over 14 years and put it up the hospital started me on this after a serious injury but when discharged from there my Gp has had full control not once did they sit and explain anything about it and 7 weeks ago stopped it abruptly only then telling me how they are to blame for overdose and that it’s so serious they will not prescribe no more

It’s after finding out this I my family looked into my health condition I have and all of them are in what long term use of this can caused I was diagnosed with chronic kidney disease stage 3 8 years ago yet they still continued prescribing me it and put the dosage up until 8 weeks ago I also been diagnosed with heart failure and bile duct blockage dilatation gastric gull bladder inflammation and many anaemias asthma and COPD

Please help advice they put me into immediate withdrawal with nothing at all for symptoms and nothing for chronic pain after having to call ambulance for pain and Gp receiving emails about how bad they treated me they agreed to give me it again but much lover does but now I am scared I asked for a different medication but won’t give me any I am suffering in every way pain symptoms of withdrawal and fear please help

Thank you

Wow! I don't know where to begin. Firstly, ask if a slow release Morphine pill will help with the withdrawal symptoms, and also take the edge off some of the pain. (It may be worthwhile speaking to a "Pain consultant"/Rheumatologist or anaesthetist. I would also contact a specialist solicitor who deals with health negligence claims against the NHS. The legal advice should be on a No win/No fee basis.

thank you so much for taking the time to read my post and be so kind to reply

Also I noticed now that I did not put in post that I am also prescribed by GP doctors MST and they are slow release the dosage they put me up and up and up over the 16 years

It’s 70mg in morning and 70mg in the evening

So because of being on them all the years I have the oramorph they are doing nothing at all to help with the withdrawal symptoms and honestly I know they must help with the chronic pain but the oramorph helped so much more because it’s fast acting and with the bile duct and gull bladder pain it really helped did not take pain away completely but was able to cope

But I get bad flare ups often then I have to call ambulance

At no point or time did anyone of the doctors sit down with me and explain anything about it or being on them long term that you will become dependent on it and will have withdrawal symptoms also never told me that it causes kidney disease bile duct liver gull bladder gastrointestinal problems and heart problems plus blood anemia

All of them I been diagnosed with with the chronic stage 3 kidney disease I got that after 8 years being on oramorph but they did not stop it at that time and not only did they continue to prescribe me it

they actually put the dosage up a few times and still for another 8 years after my kidney disease

Then nearly 3 years ago I was rushed to hospital by ambulance screaming in pain it was then u was diagnosed with a blood bile duct and inflammation of my gull bladder and last year I was diagnosed with heart failure

again it said after reading about it at the start of it when the day it was due to be delivered and did not I called it was only then they told me they stopped oramorph abruptly and I would not be given none at all and then told me I was and they was lucky I did not die and they had a claim made against them and because of how serious and dangerous the overdose they had to stopped it immediately because they was worried that I could take a does and die that was February the 6th this year I was in a state and from that day not one single Gp doctors in the practice would take a call from me or after me begging the receptionist to please ask one of them to please call me back to discuss a withdrawal program dosage and diary not one of them did

I sent emails again begging them even if just one of them to please help me I do anything they want but call me back nothing at all nothing for the chronic pain also at the start of it my daughter asked what was they going to prescribe me for chronic pain

They told her to tell me to buy paracetamol and bustapan as they give me nothing

I had to call ambulance because of pain after being in there all night

Again not one of the GPS would take my call and not one of them called me

and again not one of the emails I sent did one of them respond to

After 7 weeks with no contact at all no oramorph nothing given to cover oramorph

They then decided to prescribe half the amount of oramorph

Sorry it’s so long but I had to put everything down so I can get all the help from people like you to help me

Thank you so much

You should contact a solicitor immediately, and ask whether you should change GPs, bearing in mind their actions/inactions to date. You should make certain you have copies of all emails sent and received, and then ask them if you should consider legal action. Remember that, first and foremost, you want to get over this pain and addiction problem.

Good luck, and I wish you well.

Goodness me. I do not know as you have these chronic issues. Not sure how all of them would react to coming off them. It is best to do it very gradually but I would discuss it with a pain specialist if possible.
