Methotrexate

Saw gp this morning she said it might be methotrexate I'm not sure I want to start it though as I've had different views anybody know what I should do ???? 😲😭

Hi Deejojo - is this for rheumatoid arthritis? It tends to be given for that or some other form of inflammatory arthritis. If so, you might be best to ask for user stories of taking this drug on the NRAS forum (for RA sufferers).

I have sero negative inflammatory arthritis consultant asked me about it x

Ah right! Worth looking at the NRAS forum here then as many people on there are on it so you'll find lots of advice there.

I'm not diagnosed but I have all the symptoms. Still struggling to get any doc to believe me though.

It's taken me 20 years for someone to listen hun and changing gp helped she's brilliant the 1 I see now x

I have had psoriatic rheumatoid arthritis for 10 years, initially treated with steroids and then salazoprin, several years ago the inflammation got quite bad, my Rheumatolgist put me Methotrexate 10mg once week along withbfolic acid. Must say I have not had any problems with the flare ups since.

One side effect it does affect you immune system, if get bug it takes a bit longer to recover.

But hey ho the benefits outway the negatives.
