Zomorph: Hi all my doc have changed my meds to... - Pain Concern
Zomorph
I have been on Zomorph tablets, presume they are 1 morning and 1 12 hours later, slow release. I had them along with Oromorph for severe sciatic pain. The worst side effect was it affected my upper respiratory system and I needed antibiotics. Not sure which one caused the problem. Other than that the Zomorph was fine. Good luck.
I was prescribed zomorph and oratorio for severe knee pain. At first I felt sick and sleepy. After a couple of days the oramorph made me very drowsy and when I woke I felt like I wasn't 'there' if you know what I mean. Stopped taking oramorph and sickness and strange feeling gone. Still feel a bit sleepy occasionally but I can cope with that. Pain hasn't gone completely but is reduced. Hope you are doing ok.
I have been taking Zomorph for some time as well as Naproxen and Gabapentin and am still in constant pain. I am, unsurprisingly, tired all the time and sleep badly. It is impossible to say what side effects are caused by the drugs and what is caused by the pain itself. I hope they help you.
I'm on slow release every 12 hours side effects is lack of sleep severe constipation and weight gain hope you they work for you hun ☺
Hi, I was on Zomorph 40mg twice daily with Oramorph taken as required. I also have Gabapentin and Amitryptoline 75mg all for Osteoarthritis, 5 knee replacements later and its still a huge problem. As a previous post stated weightgain is quite a serious problem with these meds and I found when feeling drowsy during the day I would try to find active things to do which helped. The biggest problem came when I no longer wanted to take the Zomorph tabs, as an opiate they are addictive so after a while the body gets "comfortable" taking the tablets. In my case I couldn't sleep for weeks and had quite severe cramp in my elbows and shoulders making it hard to get into a comfortable position. Concentration levels did however pick up considerably so I found it easier to read a book without falling asleep.
That said, they are a great painkiller when used in moderation and everyones experience is different.
I hope you get the pain under control.
Rgds
Phil
