My husband has terminal prostate cancer he takes Zomorph together with a slow release morphine capsule twice a day...He limits himself with it because it can make you very sleepy...it does, however, take away the additional pain he's in now if he's exerted himself a bit too much...treat it with respect because you can become addicted to it...I hope it helps you...being in severe pain affects every part of your body and mental state so getting relief is very important. All the best to you...

Its not the same for everyone. I am now on 30mg twick a day and i am trying to gradually reduce the dosage as i would like to comeoff of them altogether as i feel i cannot remember things get confused feel very sleepy. I do have the Buprenorphine paych and Oramorph which i think i will stick with, so i wish you luck with whatever you think is best for you. Eve

May1941,

Thanks for your reply,it's ok I seen pain specialist he has changed my medications all of it.i been on co-codolmal for 30 years with back problems and they seemed to work.he told me they were counter reacted, same as tramadol .He also put me on paracetamol 500mg 2to be taken 4times a day.i don't think any work but it is early days yes.

As for a bad memory it started years ago before I started this medication lol.

hi I suffer chronic pain, I have done most of my life I have khyphosis of the spine "curvature" for which I'm having a major op later this yearto correct it and just been diagnosed with ankylosing spondylitis aswell, ive been taking zapain which is codeine based 2-4 times a day the doctor put me on zomorph last week 30mg but now increased that to 40mg it seems to be doing the job I think if your still in pain you need to up your dose, ask your doctor, I also take liquid oromorph when pain gets too much. good luck!!!

Hi, I have been on SR Zomorph for over 2 years, started on low dose now on 70mgs twice a day plus oramorph for break through pain, in the beginning yes I was sleepy, but now I cope well on it, some meds suit some people some don't, I think all we can do is try different drugs, different doses until we get something that helps and suits us, trail and error .I am lucky to have a GP who worked in a pain clinic before and between us we usually manage to find something that suits me. I hope you find something that gives you some relief, gentle hugs
