Well that was OK apart from being kept waiting almost an hour for my appointment. I was in so much pain so cried a lot during my assessment. I think she was asking me questions to try and catch me out but that was pointless as I had nothing to hide . So now I just have to wait , does anyone know how long before I get an answer?????

Hi hope all goes well for you.Waiting for result is a nightmare.
Hi, i am sorry it was a rough experience. I hope your results are in your favor
I suggest that you phone if not heard after four weeks. Then write to them about the phone calll so they are less likely to forget. Or even two weeks or just write to them with proof of posting from the post office.
Usually takes a month ,I have prolapsed disc at L5s1 and also compartment syndrome in both legs and ptsd,I have been on incapacity benefit since 1995,now changed to esa.I went for assessment and they rang me a month later saying I had lost my benefits and was deemed fit to do some type of work,I was so furious I went for mandatory reconsideration and also lost,I said I would like to go to a tribunal and they phoned me back and changed there mind and restored my benefits.this new system is not fit for purpose and should be looked into.i would like to take a solicitor with me on the next medical as the health professional lied and so it's your word against theirs when it comes to a decision makers answer.
That is disgusting I would like to see them work in our situation. They are probably getting a bonus for everyone they turn away . Can anything be done about this ????
Hi didn,t you know that they do get a bonus for everyone they get off benefits, they can lie about you and it's your word against there,s if you don'ttake an advocate.i took my fiancé with me and she was disgusted.
I have a the gulf war veterans association fighting my corner but even they are struggling to win cases, what you need is up to date medical evidence.i was told by a specialist that there is nothing further they can do for me,that was a few years ago so what can I do I can,t keep pestering as my doctor will not help.just keeps giving me stronger painkillers
i had to wait 4 weeks i too was kept waiting like you for my appointment i was awarded standard living allowance it was a relief so fingers crossed and allthe best hope you get a good outcome xx
hi littlemole43,I think had passed some information before your assessment,so the whole process varies, yes like I said the people who do these appointment's aren't there to be your friend, they are agents who work for the government and are only there for one reason and that's to get people of pip, people are losing their mobility cars and anything else this mob can take of the needy, the wording on the forms and the questions are now more a less designed to make life very difficult to get the the pip allowance or suddenly over ruling the previous DLA payments that are now being replaced with pip,so all I can say is wait for the decision, enjoy your Christmas and the new year and hopefully you'll have a decision that rules favourably for your award, and if it doesn't work out, please don't get down hearted,as that's where you'll need to get some extra advice and get the appeal process going,so unfortunately a bit more ground work to do,and I totally understand where your coming from with your concerns each case is different so that's the biggest problem with pip as with all are ailments are that as individuals some people deal with some complaints better than others, and it's the same that way with medication,on some folk the tablets work, and for others it doesn't,so it's still a lottery as far as I'm concerned, good luck and hopefully you'll have some good news in the new year.
Hi
I've also just had mine done. And your right about them trying to catch you out she tried it with me.
But the answer to your question, she told me it'll take at least a month to 10wks.
They told me I should hear in a couple of weeks . I did say won't it be longer because of the Christmas holidays, but she said not really, so we will just have to wait .
Hi I do hope your right and not me. I'm nervous about it as it is. I was told I need 8 points to qualify. Were you told how many points were needed, and if I don't get the points would you know what I can do or what else I can claim?
At the moment I'm on ESA and housing benefits, it was age uk that told me about pip so I'm grateful for them as I haven't a clue and benefits tell you nothing.
Would be grateful if you or anyone else could advise me. x
I applied for pip first then esa and I've never been on any benefits before so just like you I'm a novice sorry
thanks for replying so quickly.
Its a disgrace that those in benefits don't tell you anything. If I get any advice off anyone I'll let you know 😊 x
