Wrist Laceration! Happy to be alive....

It's almost 4am, about 2 weeks ago I had a really bad accident and my wrist got a very big laceration at the bottom where my veins and nerves connect to my palm...at first it didn't hurt at all guess it was because of all the drugs in my system they administered in order for my stitches to be done...for the upcoming weeks I have had my fingers feel like it is full of cement, swollen, my hand are being slow cooked it's actually feels like it's on fire, I have pins and needles in my hand, the blood circulation doesn't seem normal and I have a shooting stabbing pain that goes right up my little finger...this is far worst than anything I have ever endured and after reading all the comments on the page I thought I'd share too! Its 2 weeks today since I got my 17 stitches and I'm about to remove them today and I'm so nervous and scared cuz I can see how close they are to my skin! Eeeeppp...But I'm going in thinking ppl out there got it worst off than me...😩😭😜🤗

Yeah - thats scary. There has been a lot of injury to your wrist and it will take some time to fully recover. If you are in pain - be sure to tell the doctors or nurses. They will give you painkillers to get you over the worst. It really should not hurt too much.

I expect there has been a certain amount of nerve damage , which will take a while to recover. I'm three years out from elbow to finger nerve damage (ulna) and it is still slow to get full feeling.

Hang in there and make sure youget the painkillers.

Mind yourself and Good luck.

Do you now have trouble with other nerves? I had to have my finger nerve replaced 2 years ago due to an accident. Now 2 years later I had to have 6 other nerves in my arm wrist and elbow repaired on the same arm as finger injury. I find it odd that I have damage 2 years later.

Luckily I didn't have any nerve damage because I was still able to use my fingers but I still have to do further evaluation to rule out everything else..

Did they repair your nerves at all? It sounds to me like you have nerve damage! I would go get that checked out immediately.

Hi guys so I went to the doctor and apparent the stitches were in too tight not allowing my hand any room for circulation and therefore my finger curled up and got really swollen at the wrist...so now that the stitches are off it feels a whole lot better I still have pain in my hand but I guess my hand is now catching a break from all the congestion...I have to go stretching exercises on my hand and have another appointment to see if, I need further evaluation...I really hope this post helps others in the future...thanks again for all your well wishes....
