The active ingredient in Turmeric, circumin is anti-inflammatory in nature and has been equated to medicinal drugs available n the market.
Apparently it has been used to cure injury wounds and help assisting the healing process. This is done by mixing it in milk with some other spices and honey. Its a great pain reliever too.
Other benefits include its potential in reducing risk of cancer in digestive system and probably treat it too, improving brain function, reducing the risk of heart disease and treating Alzheimer.
Its available in form of a powder, its actually a spice. If you have any south-asian store(Indian or Pakistani) nearby, you can easily buy it from there.
1/2 teaspoon is enough to impart color and flavor to one glass of milk. Turmeric has a sharp zing to it, so I won't suggest taking it in large quantity.
Hi, thanks for all your replies. At the moment I have a big problem with swollen feet and ankles, I have been taking Turmeric 10,000 for a month and I am wondering if it is this what`s causing it, or is it the heat, plus I have just had the dosage of my DTrans patch increased, I don`t know. What I`ve decided to do is stop the Turmeric for the time being and see if the swelling goes down. Sometimes things get so frustrating don`t they.
