Pain and Jolts in head during day. Questioning.

Okay this is a question for everyone who has dealt with Joel's in the head either during the night or day time. Okay I was at my medical class around 1230today and I started feeling my left arm her in my chest started to hurt too. I thought it was just my anxiety so I let it go for a while. Then it started to get worse but soon to get better when I start walking around a little bit so I thought maybe it was anxiety. On my way home on the bus I felt a sudden jolt off the right side of my head. It felt like one of those hypnic jerks I get at night time but I didn't know they could have been there the daytime. Ever since the joke though I've been freaking out thinking it something bad could happen. I have an anxiety disorder so I tend to freak out over the littlest things. I have chronic migraines as well but go long with neck pain and upset stomach. I keep telling myself that everything will be okay but I don't know if it will or not. I keep thinking to myself oh maybe it's a aneurysm, or maybe I might be having a stroke, or so on and so forth. As you can tell, I tend to think of the worst possible scenario. I want to go to the hospital but I have a feeling that I get in trouble for going to the hospital so much over little things but yeah I don't want to let this go. I have a slight headache right now, in a little bit of neck pain but that's what I usually get when I get my migraines. Should I still worry even though it's a little thing? I mean I do have a doctors appointment tomorrow but I don't know if I can wait that long...

This is the link for the symptoms of a stroke - you can stand or sit in front of a mirror and check yourself, but it doesn't sound like that if all you have now is a headache. nhs.uk/actfast/Pages/stroke...

You have probably figured it out yourself, if you are saying its a bit like the migraines or the after effects of migraines you have. If you do think its more serious than that, you should phone 111 and get advice as to how serious it is and whether you need medical treatment before your appointment.

I'm going to talk to my doctor about it tomorrow and see if I can get either an ECG or an MRI to see if there's anything wrong at all. I have checked myself in the mirror, and checked my pupils and I look fine. My appointment is early in the morning so I should be fine. I have been checking, and I seem fine now. Mild chest pain now but my arm still hurts, but it might be my carpal tunnel and tendinitis. I don't know..

Thank you for the concern.

Left arm and chest pain can sometimes be heart problems.

But if you have neck problems its probably coming from there. Probably a trigger point firing off. Triggers cause pain in unrelated parts of the body too, they could set your migraine off as well.

Maybe a bit of meditation will help the anxiety, there are loads to choose from on you tube. And if you are less anxious in time, you'll be able to identify real pain (caused by disease or injury) and ignore the manufactured pain caused by anxiety.

It may help if you look at how muscles work in the human body as a system. If one group of muscles are over contracted then the body is pulled out of alignment and you can get all sorts of bad effects. The bad effects can be confusing because they match up to symptoms of something serious that may be going on, but is actually not.

Doctors are not geared to understanding how bad posture and bad coordination can cause all sorts of unpleasant pain and discomfort. Heads are heavy and if the head is not balanced at the top of the spine then muscles end up holding the head which can lead to headaches and neck aches. If the head is out of alignment the balance mechanism will be out of alignment and the spinal reflexes will do all sorts of things that will make things difficult.

The more contracted a muscle is the weaker the muscle becomes. Over contracted muscles accumulate waste products and prevent nutrient reaching various parts of the body. A capillary which runs through muscle will be shut off if the muscle is over contracted.

Muscles have excellent mechanisms for contracting, but lack mechanisms for returning to their best length.

I leave you to look up things like yoga, T'ai Chi, massage and Alexander Technique. All of which are body muscle system training regimes which help muscles function better.

Hope this is helpful.

Left arm and chest pain sometimes because of the heart problem but it is very rare so your don't need to worry, you just need to consult your physician, after a complete check up, he can recommend you to the best solution. orthopedicsurgerysandiego.com/
