Hi, trying them now, 4 times x 2 x 500mg - Three weeks and can't even tell I'm taking them :( Seeing my GP on Tuesday. As well as Naprosyn and Fasttab - the Fasttab an hour before the Naprosyn (2 a day). So no pain relief (oh and they are for the pain in my feet).

I have had bad leg pain for ages now and especially cramps and muscle spasms.

I've been through most of the tablets now but I take Tizanidine and time release morphine (Zomorph) 60 mg.

I also have Oromorph for breakthrough pain.

I didn't find the Co-codomol effective at all.

Your Dr. might try a stronger version of them as they also come in 30/500 doses.

Good luck

Hi KittyBoo,

Thankyou for your reply, I have had some good results with co-codamol at times,

but not always, to be truthful, I am very worried to ask for stronger medication,

and some side effects can be really bad. I know that Arthritis is incurable, so I guess it

can only get worse. I was diagnosed a year ago when I had my hips and spine xrayed.

The pain in my legs is worse than the pain in my hips and spine. it is nerve pain, sometimes

I just can,t walk, but it does pass after a while, thank goodness.

Oh I forgot to mention I also take 75mg twice daily of Pregabalin.

The co-codamol is just for in between to help with the pain.

The problem with pregabalin , is that it is causing memory loss and confusion.

I really must stop moaning now, but just to put you in the picture.

Thanks again

Rhapsody.

hello

you could always ask for 30/500 co codamol. when i first started on pain killers i was given both strengths which i took according to the pain i was in .

I also brought a tense machine from llyods chemist that did help in the beginning of my troubler as i have been suffereing with pain now for nearly 4 years :(

Does anyone know if Co-codamol can produce side effects,

and if so what are they.

A reply would be very much appreciated.

Thankyou

co codamol is a combination of Paracetamol and Codeine. As with all tablets if you take more than you need or they dont work you get side effects. More than 8 Paracetamol a day will damage your kidneys.Codeine is a good painkiller but can cause constipation and drowsiness. If it works for pain but causes constipation, sort that out with more water to drink, more green veg and fresh fruit and if necessary a bowel softener like Docusate(Doculease) rather than a griping laxative. Always take the minimum necessary to get the 'good' effects rather than the 'bad' effects.Every person differs.

500 mg acetaminophen is in there. is that good for the liver to be taking

that much everyday? Seems harsh. I suppose if that's what the doctor

said. Did the doctor prescribe that? I live in Chicago in the USA. I think that

co codamol is a prescription.

side effects are sleepy, constipation dry mouth feeling dizzy drowsy skin rash tell your doctor if you get a skin rash
