About 8 to 10 times a year I can be walking ir standing still and a lightning type pain shoots from my right hip directly to my right elbow. Doesn't hurt anything else and only happens on my right side. Sometimes it's so severe it almost drops me to my knees. I have seen doctors about it but they don't seem to know or won't touch the case. Any ideas or help with this? Thank you.

Has anyone had pain from hip thru elbow only
i wonder if this is referred pain?

I have a spot in my abdomen that is linked to a spot in my shoulder. I was warned abut this when I was having some surgery. The surgeon said that if my shoulder felt sore afterwards, it wasn't that they had dropped me on the floor or something, it was just that some people have a nerve in the abdomen that the brain thinks is in the shoulder because that was where it started out when we were foetuses.
Not sure. It's crazy. It only hits the right hip and right elbow. Nothing else. Kind of like a lightning bolt hitting elbow first then the hip in that order.
You have my empathy as occasionally I have similar but mine starts in the foot and goes up the leg, hip and then up my spine. If I am walking at the time as you say it literally can stop you in your tracks. It doesn't come on gradually but just happens. Doctor said it was caused by s nerve ending getting trapped but it is not funny.x
Sorry to hear about your pain happening. It's so sudden then gone. Yes stops me in my tracks too and pain lingers a bit and goes away.
im a chronic pain sufferer myself and it ‘sounds’ like some kind of nerve pain. can you describe the pain in more detail and what triggers it? there are many different ways to experience pain and trigger them.
Don't know of one thing that's triggers it. I havent had one in about a month now. It's just strikes like a lightning bolt. Only pain in right hip and elbow. Affects nothing else. Sorry to hear about your chronic pain.
It might help to try and figure out the triggers then because that can help you get closer to the cause. what you’ve described sounds like nerves firing from something agitating them and they connect everything so the pain can radiate or happen in other places. If it’s nerves, it could be something in your neck and lower back that shifts or gets pinched when you move a certain way. It helps to visualize what may be going on by looking at anatomy pics of different systems like nerves and where they are. just a possibility to consider. it’s ok, im dealing with it but appreciate the sentiment.
Thank you. I will certainly will do this.
no problem. hope you get the help you need.
