Diagnosis HG3C Ovarian cancer October 2020. Usual combo 3 chemo before debulking 3 after. Some other chemo after that. Then put on Tamoxifen. All well for a while then relapse so back on chemo and then on a drug targeted therapy called Rubraca, that's the short name for it. Was on and off it because of various things to do with my blood's but it was working until I got a bowel obstruction. Which is where I'm at, at the moment. In hospital, tube in stomach draining away what I can't digest. So no bowel movement of my own accord. Can only have liquids, nothing solid will go through my intestines so hoping it will resolve it's self soon. Feeling a bit miserable and sorry for myself but I know other people are going through worse and I will snap out of it. The nurse's and doctors are brilliant and I know I'm being well looked after so I'm very grateful to them all. Anyone reading this, I hope you're journey is going as well as it can be. Thanks for reading, take care ♥️ 😘

Hi , completely understandable that you’re feeling low, be kind to yourself. Being in hospital with a bowel obstruction and an NG tube is really tough going, along side everything else you have been through. Fingers crossed that your bowel sorts itself out soon. Hoping you’re managing to get some sleep. X

Good you’re managing to get some sleep. When I had an NG tube in , I dreamt about layering up an afternoon tea , with sandwiches and cakes , fondant fancies, something I never eat , it did distract me from the discomfort though. Rest up and take care xxx

I understand exactly what you are going through. It's is absolutely horrible. I really hope that the blockage resolved itself. I've had three bowel blockages and survived them. I'm currently on my fifth line of treatment and it's not easy by any means. However I believe if we have hope we can keep going.

I was diagnosed in 2018.

Having a good team dealing with you is so helpful and reassuring.

Keep the faith you will get through this. Oh and eat as bland as possible for a few weeks, boring I know but it really helps.

Best wishes for a speedy recovery from this issue.

Sorry to hear that your are going through this. I had the similar situation. I had stage 3 ovarian ca; debulking surgery in April 2021. Had 6 cycles of carbo+paclitaxel treatment. Was fine until August 2023; had a lymph nodule on my left groin; it was malign so it is removed. Before the surgery, petscan and MRI done. Very little sparkles on the intestines, but was not worthy to open to abdomen for removal. 20 days later I was hospitilized for bowel obstruction. Waited 3 days to see if it will go away. CT was taken; nothing seen… 3 days later I was operated and it turned out that it was obstructed due to a tumor which grew horizontally over the intestines… It is removed and i was back on the chemo again for 6 cycles. During chemo i had 2 more bowel obstructions all passed in 1-2 days… So no tumor.. I don’t want to scare you but what i suggest if it is more than 2-3 days, please insist on further scans and tests.. I pray for you that it resolves by itself quickly and it is not a tumor 🙏

Thank you for the the advice sybil71, when I had a scan they just said it was it was poo packed tight they called it total blockage. It seems to be slowing unblocking I think. They said it would take time to unblock with the help of strong laxitives. I've just started passing wind (farting) again so that must be a good sign. ☺️. Xx
