I’m 49 and in 2019 was diagnosed with stage 1c2. It was found in pathology after having ovaries removed prophylactically due to finding out I was BRCA1 positive.
I had 3 rounds of taxol and carboplatin. I might mention that my ca125 was 8 so never indicated cancer. During chemo my number rose to 9. Then afterwards it came back down and has hovered in the single digits for 4 years. I just got results from my 6 month follow up. My number was 10.7 which has alarmed me bc last two times it was 8 and my oncologist said there’s an upward trend. I had a Ct scan 6 months ago and it was fine. My doc told me that’s the only thing he wud hav asked for had I not already had one. I got to him on May 1st. I’m not sure what he will say. I have no symptoms at all. I have started some new hormone pills. I also got a testosterone/estrogen pellet inserted. Does anyone know if there’s a possible link with that causing the increase in my numbers? My oncologist isn’t aware of this yet but I will b telling him. Another doc prescribed the pellet. Any thought or suggestions are appreciated!

Hi Southernsas I definitely think you should tell your oncologist about the hormone pellet. I know some cancers are hormone sensitive. Maybe they have information if your tumour was. I think it’s possibly a good idea to check with oncologist before embarking on any new medication unless an emergency.
thank you! I was in the hospital in January with sepsis due to kidney infection/stones. I don’t know if that has raised it or not. I also had a Ct scan then. To me, it looked clear although they were looking for kidney stones. My oncologist will be able to look at that as well.
Hiya. You need to have chat with your oncologist, especially if you start any new meds or supplements even. Some interfere. If there's a tumor growing and CA 124 if creeping up, they need some photos ( scan) to prove also. Good luck 🤞
thanks for your reply. Yes I probably should have mentioned the pellet and supplements to him first. I did call and let them know yesterday about it. So at least he will be able to have that in mind when he sees my ca125 number. I also did hav a Ct a Al in January bc I was in the hospital with sepsis due to kidney infection/stones. They weren’t looking for cancer then but at least I have the pictures my oncologist can look at.
