Just giving an update on my condition. I had a CA125 last month of 8, which my consultant assures me is fine. However it has normally been 6 or 7 when I am in remission, and so am just a little nervous about this level of 8, though my oncologist thinks it is most likely to be just normal variation. So I have asked for a check again in 3 months (October) instead of 6 months, and will have that.
I continue on ibuprofen, as anti-cancer agent, and omeprazole as usual, and am doing a lot of hillwalking and tennis. Going off to walk in the Italian Dolomites in a few days. And we are expecting our first grandchild at beginning of November, and so we are delighted about that, especially as our daughter had a miscarriage last year.

Have a look on the internet for NSAIDs and cancer. Ibuprofen and aspirin are in the same family of drugs, which are thought to help with cancer prevention. Obviously, there's no detailed clinical evidence to categorically state that, but smaller scale studies indicate some benefit. Have a chat to you onc or GP for advice if it is something you are interested in.

Hi Zena. If you look at all my previous posts you will find out more about aspirin and NSAIDs like ibuprofen. People who are taking aspirin regularly or an anti-inflammatory like ibuprofen have less chance of getting cancer (proven reputable long-term studies) and if they get cancer it does not spread so easily. They also have an anti-cancer effect in some who do have cancer, preventing spread if the patient is already in remission. These drugs also have been shown to kill cancer cells in lab conditions. Check out aspirin on Cancer Research UK website.
Hi Eileen If it's any reassurance, mine was 7 when I was advised I was again NED, then dropped to below 3, and had fluctuated up to 3, down to below 3, and back up to 3 so to me it sounds like a normal variation though I like you get nervous when it goes in the upward direction even if it is one digit. Sounds like you are doing well! Great news about your impending new arrival, bet you can't wait! xx
Thanks for posting and so pleased that you are doing so well on ibuprofen. Read your previous posts and will definitely talk to my oncologist about possibly starting ibuprofen, may have to wait till I finish maintenance Avastin in January.

My CA125 was confirmed as 10 today , fluctuates between 8 and 10 . Just had 6 month post chemo scan confirming NED so I am more than happy with another 10 . Was 3880 when diagnosed . Love Kim x

Hello drdu. that's an inspiring story. Was diagnosed stage 4 in 2015 then it was changed to 3C when I had debulking surgery and after 3 rounds of chemo. When I finished chemo I was NED and in remission for 11 months. Finished chemo in may this year for my first recurrence. Did NOT get a remission this time. CA125 dropped to 35 but were 200 3 weeks ago. Would you be able to tell me if it would be beneficial in my case to start on either ibuprofen or aspirin to slow down cell growth? I have discussed with my functional/integrative GP and he seems to think it might be worth a try. My ONC does not support anything outside the norm (not even diet).
However from you post I think would only be beneficial if you are in remission?
