CA125 rising

Just got results back for CA125. It has been rising monthly. My oncologist was taking a wait and see approach as it was normal in April then rose to 70 in May now up to 111. Had scan in April NED. He has now set up appointment for Monday to rescan. I’m so worried about this as I have a trip planned in July to visit UK and am so looking forward to it as the trip was canceled twice due to Covid then initial cancer diagnosis last year. They discussed going on Keytruda if there is any evidence of disease as I have been on Zejula for 9 months. Praying my scan is clear so I can go on my trip with a clear head. Thanks to this group as I always love the responses they encourage me deeply.

Hi, my CA125 started rising October 23, I had 2 CT scans which showed NED. My CA125 continued rising and I had a PET scan the end of February this year. This scan showed very small areas of the cancer growing again. I started chemo again 3 weeks ago. My last CA125 was 1,874. It was a long 6 months waiting game , and an anxious time., often your bloods can rise due to other causes, so may not be a recurrence. Speak to your oncologist and explain you have planned a holiday and if you're feeling well enough, then fit scans etc around it . Go and enjoy your holiday. ( I went away for a long weekend in-between- needed a break from the stress !!) Good luck hope all goes well for you. Jan xx

Wait and see is scary. Have the scan. There's nothing you can do until then really. Hard not to worry I know but can you put it out of your mind until you know more? Wishing you best of luck. xx

As long as you don’t have symptoms take your trip and start treatment, if needed, after. I was found to have a recurrence in February and had a trip to Italy planned for April. My oncologist encouraged us to go in between chemo 2 and 3. I’m so happy we did. I had a scan after chemo 3 and it showed considerable shrinkage.

Thanks for sharing I think my oncologist is going to tell me to go as I feel good and walk 2 miles a day.

Update

Thank you dear ladies for your encouraging replies. I just got CT Scan results and there is NED. I’m still having stomach issues but they believe it’s caused by diverticulosis and there may be slight inflammation. Thank you all again for your support this group is so wonderful.
