update after stopping Carboplatin

Quick update due to ct scan after deciding to stop Carboplatin after so many reactions .discussion at MDT meeting today with surgeons . Surgery will be in 2-3 weeks...in terms of chemotherapy doing its job the report from CT scan seems to be no change in tumour size, no bigger, no smaller so pretty much chemo stopped things from progressing any further...but lymph nodes showed improvement🙂 so that's a good result ..so all in all even though I'd hoped for shrinkage at least it's not spread anywhere else🙂 with the reactions I had that was my biggest fear with having to stop treatment on 2 outa 4 cycles ... so we pretty much still where we started in April x

Well that’s probably good news kadabra12 if it’s kept it from progressing and you can have your surgery. Will they look for an alternative to carboplatin for you? x

Sorry to hear you had the reactions to the carboplatin. I do hope they tried reducing the dose for you due to your reactions to it as they don't always get the dose right first time x

Hi I reacted to Carbo and can never have it again. I was swapped to Cisplatin which is harsher (I found) but did the job. Good luck. Kathy

Thanks for those replies Kathy, Sarah & Lundy because they’re helping me too. I have a huge anaphylactic shock reaction to Carbo today. It was my third dose for this 2nd recurrence. Hopefully they’ll come up with a new plan for me tomorrow 🤞🤞🤞
