I had a ct scan three weeks after my CA125 keep increasing last six month as soon as finshed 18th IV of Avastin.

Upset and nurvouse not knowing what will be the side effect of this 2nd line of chemo starting on 27th Dec.

Can anyone please share what side effects did they have, having these two drugs (Carboplatin and liposomal doxorubicin).

Many thanks x

I've just finished 6 x Carbo + Caelyx (liposomal doxorubicin).

I found it doable.

I had it every 4 weeks. And the first 10 days I was very fatigue and mostly slept and sweated through it.

I got a few more migraines than normal - I do get them anyway.

I couple of nasty rashes that i needed meds for.

A smattering of diarrhoea and constipation. And learned to never trust a fart when on chemo.

Nausea meds were very much needed.

So was meds for acid reflux.

Didn't lose my hair but it did thin a little.

Was less painful than on Carbo + taxol. which made my joints and bones ache.

Hope that helps.

For maintenance i'll be on Avastin (IV).

Ca125 was 200 when recurrence could be see on scans.

And is now 10.

Got to 10 by 4th chemo.

CA125 is a very sensitive marker for me.

I'm BRCA 1 so very sensitive to platinum chemo.

I’m on it now. I find it much easier than carbo/taxol. I feel very fatigued the first 3 or 4 days after and slight nausea. I get it every 4 weeks so which makes it very tolerable. I have a little bit of skin rash on my arms that is not itchy I believe it’s from dry skin so I use CeraVe which helps.

Did not lose my hair just a little bit thinner. I was afraid of losing my hair again too but my oncologist told me that it might just get thinner. So far so good!
