Hi All. I have been on maintenance with Avastin every 3 weeks and then oral Cytoxin was added as Ca-125 continued to climb. I started in the 80’s after completing Gemzar/Carbo/Avastin. My scans looked great 2 months ago in spite of my rising Ca 125. I started having increased non-specific abdominal wall pain, top to bottom, right to left and then began to feel pressure/heaviness low in my pelvis. My Ca 125 began to rise exponentially and is now 355. I had scans and it showed peritoneal thickening, peritoneal carcinomatosis and a small collection of ascites low in pelvis. Oh no, not that again 🤦🏻♀️ I’m to start on Doxil next week. A heavy hitter. Does anyone have any tips, helpful hints or experience with Doxil?

DOXIL Tips
I had carbo and doxil last year for first recurrence. For me it was much easier than frontline. You do have to use lots of rich moisturizer on feet and hands and avoid any skin irritation. I had some mouth sores and couldn’t eat anything like crisps or anything spicy. I tended to be fine the day after chemo then knocked out for five days. Then fine til next time. Good luck!
Agree with frequent use of a rich moisturizer! I liked the Aquaphor and Nivea products. I also had problems with mouth soreness and could not brush with mint toothpaste or chew mint gum, so I went with kid's fruit flavors. Used Biotene mouthwash before bed for dry mouth (I think you can get something prescription-level for that if needed). Best of luck! Deb in Colorado
I have just had two treatments with Doxil so far. I think my dose was 75ml. Maybe side effects will kick in later, but so far I feel very good and back to my old self. I just finished over a year with cediranib and olaparib and lots of side effects, so this has been wonderful for me. I hope you have a similar experience! Iris
