Is Doxil and Avastin Still working?

Hello Teal sisters, I'm starting to worry I have been on 3 cycles of Doxil and Avastin out of 6. After the first two cycles my Ca 125 level drop in half however, following the third cycle my CA125 only dropped 3 points. Has this happen to anyone else? God Bless

Going down is good, fluctuations are fine too. Numbers climbing upwards that double each time are not good. So from where I’m sitting I’d say you are doing good

HI Faith I'm with Lily Anne as long as it's going down good, Doxil also called Caelyx is know for being a slow released drug, give it a go hope it gives you good result.

Hi Faith, I just started Doxil/Avastin , so I'll be following the replies. I've had one Doxil (and 2 Avastin) so far and my CA dropped from 1600 to about 1300, so 300 points with the first one. My next infusion is due tomorrow. How are you doing with side effects? I had mouth sores from hell for 2 weeks and already have low whites. The fatigue is awful. They are going to reduce my dose by at least 20%. I hope like heck you have been tolerating this better than me! Keep us Doxil girls posted!

Hello kat98116,

I found raising my mouth with baking soda has helped for the mouth sores. Also, I have been extremely tired. I had blood work today white cells are good. God Bless

Hi Kat,I'm on the same regimen, and I've had two Doxil (three Avastin). I am also extremely fatigued; more so than I expected. The baking soda also cleared up my mouth sores and they haven't returned. My skin has become incredibly dry and I have been using vats of cerave moisture cream. Are you having pain at all? I've been having pain in my joints, particularly my shoulders and hips, and am just generally uncomfortable a lot of the time.

My Onc says they look for trends rather than individual cycle figures. Hope you get the result you need soon. Keep on keeping on. All good wishes to you. Xx

Hi Faith, it’s my understanding that with Doxil you’ll get drops in ca125 between the 3rd and 6th cycle. I’ve been on Doxil and avastin 3 cycles Doxil 6 cycles avastin. My ca125 dropped a few points with 1 went up 30 after 2nd which I contributed to my first vaccination then dropped back down 29. I’m now being taken off of this combo and waiting for approval for Keytruda :/

My preference would be to finish them then start Keytruda. Best of luck on your journey ❤️

Ps- I’d like to add that if you are feeling fatigue and joint pain, you might consider Physical therapy I think it’s worked for me as the fatigue is minimal as well as the joint pain. My PT consist of light cardio and Pilates type stretching and workout.
