1st lot of second line chemo completed

Just wanted to say I am home after completing the first lot of chemo for my recurrence, as usual the nurses were fantastic , I was a little uneasy at starting a new regime but they set my mind at rest .At least I didn’t get a bad reaction to the Caelyx like some of you lovely sisters .Now to keep a diary of how I feel each day .Onwards and upwards xxx

I’m gearing up for my 4th dose of weekly taxol on Monday for my 1st recurrence And am hoping I get a long remission after this and the trial drug I’m staring soon x hope you do too

Good luck with the fourth dose , I think weekly is a lot gentler on you .Its lovely hearing from everyone and the tips are great , drank so much water yesterday that I had to go to the loo three times whilst having the infusion , hopefully the constipation won’t be so bad if I keep up the fluids.xx

Thanks Lorraine , everyone’s support sure does keep you going .My boys ( hubby and son) were asleep on the setee by 9.00 last night as they had a stressful day .Guess who was tidying up and sorting washing at midnight .xx

Hi Maus , Thanks for your support .I hope the side effects won’t be too bad .I have taken onboard everyone’s tips and my body is swathed in creams and soufflés to try to reduce the skin problems .I am like an oil slick .xx

Ah well done Jules, I had my first lot of chemo for reoccurrence last Thursday, same regime as 1st line Carbo/Taxol. Keep telling myself only five to go.

Hi Ellsey , Hope your first one went Ok and the side effects are minimal .I am not sure why my prof changed the mix for me as had Carbo / Taxol previously , I don’t ask many questions ( kinda head in sand type) perhaps I should do .xxJules

Well done! It’s often harder to get in that chair the second time round / must confess I blubber like a baby but then it went on and I was ok.. keep on there and hope you don’t have any side effects!

Hi, Yes I had to force myself in , was welling up but I started to tell the sister how I felt and she was brilliant .I am in awe of those nurses who look after us every day .x. Jules

Well done, I had my first Caelyx for 2nd line last Friday, I have had no side effects as yet, other than tiredness. I was advised to take a week off work but returned after 4 days as I felt fine. I hope you have this response to it too x

Ok today and stuffing meds down . I had a previously booked break to Brighton planned and we are still planning on going on Monday so hopefully the dreaded day 4 curse doesn’t kick in.Hope you continue to do well , we will have to swap notes .XJules
