Thankfully home at last, surgery went well upper vaginal vault removed and 3 pelvic lymph nodes removed. apparently tumour gone off to check on margins, this is new to me as 1st surgery was optimal debulking they never mentioned margins.
My bladder decided to have a little sleep so I have come home with a bag strapped to my leg, CNS said oncologist will see me in clinic in a couple of weeks to discuss treatment, and hopefully the catheter will come out next week. So for now onwards and upwards for me.

Sounds like everything went to plan. Bowels and bladders are so touchy, my bowel took ages to stop sulking. I’m sure it’ll be back to normal in no time.
Lots of rest and fluid and you’ll be back on track in no time
Home will help recovery for sure. I don’t understand what you said about margins. Don’t feel you need to explain, I just wanted to flag up my ignorance. I hope you have a lovely bank holiday weekend being looked after and start to feel like yourself soon, with a bladder which wants to do it’s bit. Take care xxx Netti
Glad the operation went well - fingers crossed that your bladder gets the restart message soon - I ended up with stoma after debulking and it took ages to get the memo.
I assume the margin thing is like breast cancer surgery - you have had a portion of your upper vagina removed by sound of it and they will be checking tumour and the area around it that they excised for evidence of cancer or atypical cells - thet have an optimal clear margin area that surgery should achieve and I know on bc they operate again to achieve that- with the original op a margin may not have been necessary as everything was just taken out - at least that is hiw I understand the process x
I had a catheter for a week after surgery in Feb, and actually it allows you not to have to get out of bed in the night for a wee! I have a tiny bladder anyway, so in the daytime, it saved me some trips upstairs when I was recovering -my mate got very adept at emptying it downstairs for me!
