Olaparib

I was diagnosed with stage 4 OC in November 2015. I've had 3 rounds of chemo and now on olaparib just started them 3 days ago. Is anyone else on them no one at my local hospital is on them. Just wandering what side effects women are having.

Hi I have been taking Olaparib for nearly 4.5 years on a trial and the side effects are minimal. Some dizziness fro low blood pressure, some slight bowel issues (loose and urgency) apart from that nothing really. I work full time. I am taking 600mg per day in tablet form of 300mg in the morning and 300mg in the evening. I wish you well on them,. Kathy xx

Hi there, I just started taking them and wondering, do they kill off the cancer cells or basically stop growth in the ones there

Hi. Both I believe. I have been NED since Aug 2013, so in my case Im taking them to prevent new growth. I belong to a fb page called Parp Inhibitors -drugs and trials and there are ladies there whose tumours have shrunk whilst taking Olaparib. Hope you do well and are getting on ok . Kathy xx

Hi it means 'No Evidence of Disease' - nothing showing up on any scans. xx
