Advise please had in last 2years carboplatin and paxo two lots 6 sessions 3 lots surgery stoma hysterectomy any advice on just carboplatin 2 hour sessions as its now spread to nodules hair just started to grow back slowly wondering if side effects will be as severe with 2 hours instead of 6.8 thanks for any advice as I don't know weather to ecept or not

Hi, its only Paclitaxel causes the hair loss as far as I know. Carboplatin on its own it shouldnt be that bad but I would get any treatment to get better and fight this horrible disease. xx

Hi I just had carbo alone in the past year for second recurrence. I think my hair thinned a bit but you don’t lose it. I had nausea and fatigue for a week after but it wasn’t the worst. And everyone is different about nausea. One problem I had was I developed an allergy to it so had to have it with extra premeds and a special protocol which took all day but since it’s the best chemo for us I’m glad I was able to do that. Best of luck with it.

I had carboplatin on its own because I have a bad allergy history, so I never had Taxol at all. No hair loss, no neuropathy, and in fact I was able to go back to work, part time. And that was in 2006, so just coming up to 19 years cancer free. It's very manageable.
