As some of you may know after much pushing and shoving and being proactive I managed to get an appointment at TRM in London. Since meeting with their drug development team, I have now been offered no less than three different trials. They have tested tissue samples from my surgery which took place in Oxford in 2013 and they now know which is the best trial for me.
Due to the difficulty in getting to Sutton twice a week for the trial, I have been offered the treatment at my local hospital in Reading where it is now offered. If I hadn't been proactive I would not have discovered all these trial opportunities,
So here I am after new biopsies, CTs, heart ultra sound, ECG and copious blood tests and I start treatment on Wednesday. If this one doesn't help then I know there are others I can try. I can't be cured but hopefully will be given more time to enjoy life with my family.
I will let you know how it goes and get out there.

If you already have an appointment that's OK, but I wasn't getting anywhere so I rang the RM and asked to speak to a particular doctor's secretary and hey bingo, he answered the phone - it was a fluke.
I found getting moved from the NHS to the private list more frustrating than getting the initial NHS appointment at the RM. Fingers crossed the appointment is already in the post to you x
