Hi Rosanne

I am on the Octopus trial, but as it is a trial the study is blinded and so do not know whether I am taking AZD2014 or placebo. I have another month of taxol plus "drug". So far treatment is going in the right direction, reduced CA125 and tumour size.

I think there is another trial just about to start called "Forward".

Sorry can't give you a definitive answer about the future on this trial, but sadly no-one can. Just being on the trial seems to provide personal attention which is great.

Hope this helps

Tx

I had weekly taxol plus ??. I have found This has been much easier to bear than last years carbo/taxol once every 3 weeks regime.

CA125 was 8,000 before starting this trial and at last blood test was down to 129. The tumours now discernibly smaller they are spread throughout peritoneum but not in lymph nodes at present.

I did the Octopus trial, unfortunately it didn't work for me and although initial results were encouraging I couldn't complete cycle 6 as I had massive ascites and was taken off trial.

I have had a long term drain fitted and after 6 weeks the ascites appears to have dried up. See my oncologist next week to decide what's next, could be another trial but not much available at the moment.

Sorry I can't offer you good news but as with most trials it's just down to luck to be on the trial drug wing.

Hope it goes well for you.

Best wishes, Liz
