CT scan after chemo

Ladies...

After your last round of chemo how long did your DRs wait until your CT scan? Was it scheduled for months after your chemo or right after chemo was done?

I'm in US. CT scan 3 weeks after chemo completed and reviewed with doc the same day.

Hi, Ange.. It is 10 months past my last chemo treatment and I have not had any scans. My doc believes in monitoring CA125 as well as paying attention to any symptoms and making a decision to scan only if warranted. I had pretty low volume disease and he does pretty much feel the chemo did their job. But of course, I see him every three months and trust he knows his stuff.

Hi ange, I had my last chemo on the 16th of December and had a ct scan on the 3rd of Jan and then got appointment to see oncologist for results on the 20th of this month

My CT scan was 5 weeks after the last chemo appointment ie last infusion. I think the plan is normally about a month after so they have images for future comparison.

My last chemo was 6th April 2016 and scan was 18th April followed by appointment with oncologist on 23rd April so pretty quick.

Similar to above, around 3-4 weeks. I was told it would provide my new base line and comparison for any future scans if required. Consultant meeting to discuss results a couple of weeks later. Now 3 monthly checks, we agreed no blood monitoring, unless symptoms returned.

I did have to wait 3 months, and that is after I asked for one to be done. Finished Chemo Sept 2, 2016 wasn't till Nov 28th that I had scan done. For many it gives them a peace of mind to have that 2nd backup that chemo is or is not working they way it was planned. Most dr's would rather wait until their patient has symptoms or ca 125 starts rising dramatically.

I finished chemo 3 weeks ago after 6 sessions of usual carboplatin taxol and no mention of CT scan, just an appointment early April to see oncologist. Do I assume they think all is well. As it happens I have a CT scan in two weeks at Christies Manchester as had major op there to do with bowel cancer so hence CT scan so that will cover both I hope. Maybe I should be more pushy. My hospital here in Nottingham are not aware of CT scan in Manchester as it appears they have not been communicating with them, so my oncologist at Manchester informed me as he was interested to see what treatment they have given me for the ovarian cancer. This was only discovered after op in June to do with bowel. Avastin has never been mentioned. Its so difficult to know best course of action I think.
