Just back home after hysterectomy plus removal of many other cancerous bits and pieces (appendix, spleen). Despite having an empty abdomen I feel as if I have a concrete block in my body from my chest down to my pelvic bone. Has anyone else experienced this?

Me too. Very early days Jackie. Rest up and don't try to rush anything. Over the coming weeks you will begin to feel better. Xx Trish
Hi Jackie,
Sorry to hear about this pain, I didn't experience what you are describing so I'm sorry I can't be much help - have you called the hospital ward where you were treated or your GP? I imagine the District Nurses will be visiting you?
I hope you are able to get some answers and that you will be feeling much better soon. Love Libby xx
As others have said, it is very early days from what is a very serious operation. A bit of time, painkillers and eventually some gentle exercise and you will start feeling better.
I found having little targets helped me get through the first few days at home, even if it was just walk to the kitchen twice!
Hope you start to feel more comfortable soon.

Hi Jackie, I was hooked up to an epidural for the first five days after my surgery and when it wore off everything felt tight and heavy. I did have some pain when I got trapped wind but once this went it was more discomfort than anything else. It is very early days and I found paracetamol really helped. Take it easy. Kerry xx
Hi Jackie,
As others have said I can relate to your post. It will improve, just takes time. Listen to your body and rest when you need to.

I can only add to what others are say. It is very early days, and your body has been through a major trauma. It will ease over time, try not to rush things, relax as much as possible and take gentle exercise when you can. Even walking to the loo counts! Sending much cyber sympathy.
