Hi lovely ladies ,

It’s three days since my operation. Pain isn’t too bad , still feel nauseous. I was in a lot of pain and was very sick the second day of op , but can move around quite easily today. My blood pressure is vey high today so they are giving me more drugs for that. The days and nights are endless. Just want to go home now . Seriously fed up .

Glad the op went ok. Everything is going the right way. Remember they want the bed as much as you want to go home. 😃 so you will escape as soon as it safe to do so.

Best wishes Fay

Hi. hopefully you will be home soon, as soon as the hosp deem you well enough to leave, they want that bed so keeping you is for your benefit. Easy for me to say I know as Im not the one in hosp! Fingers crossed yr BP is down and they chuck you out soon xx

Very well done! Let's hope the worst is over. For me, one of the biggest challenges is remembering whether I have taken a certain pill. So I make a schedule to tick off the day. But my memory wasn't good before all the treatment so ignore this tip of your name's Einstein!!

Wishing you a speedy discharge from hospital (without any unwanted discharges, of course!) Enjoy the anticipation until that moment Gx

It’s early days and it can feel like one step forward and then bam you feel rubbish again - I was fine first few days post op then developed an ileus and spent s whole day vomiting so you have my sympathy - if you’re feeling nauseous still make sure you ask for antti sickness meds regularly -

Hope the BP improves soon and you can come home x

It really is very early days for you, it has to be one step at a time, you can’t rush this. I know it’s rubbish being in hospital but like others have said they won’t send you home until you’re good and ready. There are drugs they can give you for the nausea and they’re watching your BP carefully, hopefully once that settles they may well fire you. Well done on the surgery, you’ve done the hard bit now you just have to get better steadily.

Recover well lovely ❤️Xx Jane

Yah it's quite a bother during those first post-op days.

Blood pressure might be high due to surgery. Mine was high as well the week following the op, and came down eventually, without meds.

If you can get your bowels going again, that should be a relief. Movicol, lots of hot peppermint tea and some walking about did the trick for me last time. IV based anti-sickness meds and a pca for the pain and hopefully you will feel better soon. Hugs, Maus.

Well surgery is over but hospital is not the most comfy place. I found the nights endless as I could not sleep. However you are doing well in moving around and it wont be long before you are home in your own bed

It’s so boring in hospital isn’t it? I hated every minute once I started to feel better. It sounds as if you are healing well. How is your appetite ? They like you to be working properly both ends before they let you go.

A good book or eye spy with your ward mates might help pass the time

Great that the op is done. I found the nights in hospital really awful and, once I was mobile, I paced the corridor or listened to my cd's. Eventually I fell asleep in the early morning only to be woken up for the pill round. By the time I had swallowed all the pills I was too full to eat and then was in trouble for not eating. I found oramorph a short term relief as it made me sleep.

Hang in there! I remember it well, the nightmare of the barrage of lights and sound and the endless drips. I was the opposite - my blood pressure was so low they often had trouble taking it - and that turned into an internal bleed, being rushed into surgery, ITU, etc... So hang in there, at least you're spared that. :-) ! I particularly remember the fact that the hands of the clock never seemed to move - hours seemed to take forever to tick over - I called it "Hospital Time" (TM) - it wasn't till I got home that time passed as it normally does - in a rush! xxx

The time in hospital is horrible...I work in one and believe me when my colleagues ( including doctors ) are in they hate it even more than all the other patients.

The drugs make you feel terrible , you have had a huge physical trauma to your body and for us OC people we have hormonal issues to deal with and the diagnosis plus the fear of future treatments.

Sounds as if you are doing brilliantly and hope you get discharged soon.

Love n hugs xxx

Well done for getting your bowels moving so soon. The first few days are very difficult, but you should soon be feeling much better. It's good you are moving around more easily. I hope they soon feel they can throw you out of hospital. They won't keep you any longer than they need to. Di

Ps. Last time I was in hospital for surgery, when they decided I could leave, they were so busy they asked me to get dressed & wait for my husband in the day room as they needed my bed for someone coming up from theatre.

Hang in there! You'll be home before you know it. You have to be stabilized first. Best wishes, XXOO
