whent down to A and E realy good to start off with

i was seen by a guy who looked at my problem and sent for vascular person

as feet as you know where cold and blue with loosing feeling in them

woman came said you have pulses in your feet john but im going to send you up to the vascular team. lovely girl (with realy cold hands never felt hands that cold on a woman before lol) this could be coming from the small blood vessels in your feet

anyway stuck the needle in my arm and they tryed to find a bed for me knew then i would not be going home with that needle in my arm. got a bed at 3 pm from 9.30 when i whent read on

they checked for pulses again in the feet i herd it on the machine.

and i was lied on a inclined bed

waited till about 4,30 for the team to come and see me

well it was a man with a dicky bow on and another guy

when you see a man with a dick bow on in a hospital brain says THIS IS GOING TO BE GOOD LOL

told the guy carmly my problems and looked at my feet by this time they where just inflamed and red not cold possibly due to the temprature in the room or the incline of the bed.

he didnt thing they where all that bad. (but i thought to myself you dont have these buggers on the end of your feet mate)

but he said what we will do is give you a bigger test on circulation in your legs and also do a 24 monitor on you heart to look at any fluctuations in it

i told him all this as come on since having the operation they where just cold before.

i also whent on to tell him about the private rumi appointment i had and regards the inflamitory enthesis this was sort of disgarded ho nooooooo

he said what can happen here is that because you colestrol is high you have had a blockage in your leg and then it just burst with the pressure behind it in you artery and all the stuff just shoots down the vain giving you a blockage that need to clear.

you need to go back on statins (well i dont realy want to do this realy cos of the problems i feel i have had off them but may start taking something that is not a strong.

so i was DISCHARGED HOME what a bummer.

and told to stay off the fags which i have cut down.

so if the test they gave me with that smaller machine showed pulses through my legs why the semi septic big toe and the others swollen and red ? and ringing in my ears and balance seemingly out and lumpsd in my hands that take turns in which hand flairs up.

I also took the liberty and didnt think i would get a reply of emailing dr bowden the private rumi i saw before i whent to hospital as gaenor said why dont you email him and ask.

i didnt think i would get a reply and told him about operation findings ie no cartlidge left on inside of leg and petela and acl main stabaliser in the knee.

AND HE WROTE BACK TO ME THIS MORNING didnt think i would get a reply as i told him it was a final update.

and this was the reply.

The enthesitis does flare after surgery but usually settles after a few weeks

how can these people do this to you is beyond me and disrigard what you are telling them

you fight like hell to bring an operated knee back on line thats knackered some how and they take no notice of any underlying causes to the problem.

perhaps i should have gone in with ive got circulation problems and they would have sent me to a rumi guy i dont know what the answere is but im getting a bit pissed off with this system now

i paid 35k in tax one year when i left work i could have paid for a new body out of that!!!

Terrible .poor you\ do you have blood pressure issues too? very scary stuff, if you have please try to give up those fags.

I KNOW it is hard cigs are as addictive as heroin and getting probably nearly as expensive!!!, more money for bike restoration.

Lucky for me my cholestrol ok, as now have high BP, which in hoping with right RA meds and loosing the stone and a bi of steroid fat it will come down.

High BP AND HIGH Cholesterol can cause v bad circulation which can lead to v serious problems, I am so sorry, I have busy trying to sort optimium tablet regime to get my Bp DOWN.. cos didnt fanct heart attack or stroke!

But John you do seem to be making progress in a way just getting things ruled out - and if you have high cholesterol and you smoke then these are complicating things for the medical profession a bit too. Its obviously not as straightforward to diagnose you as you wish it was - but some of us have quite vague diagnoses anyway so even a diagnosis of RA doesn't seem straightforward to me. I think you should get back to the GP ASAP and get them to refer you to him as the private guy suggests. Tildax

YES TILDA THATS WHAT I THINK BUT WILL HE GIVE IT TO ME FOR A REFERAL THATS WHAT IM FRIGHTENED OF NOT BEING GIVEN A REFERAL.

STARTED TAKING SOME ASPRINS THIS MORNING AND THIS IS GETTING A BIT OUT OF CONTROL NOW.

PUT SOMETHING UP ON PERONOVAL NERVE THIS MORNING FOR PEOPLE THATS WHAT I THOUGHT COULD BE A PROBLEM SINCE THE OPERATION ALSO WITHT THE ANKLE.

i must admit im running out of resourses now in what to do when all this kicked off and one thing has led to another.

got up this morning feet not to bad walk round for a bit and then things start of getting cold and like water running down inside the knee all verry confusing seeing as it all started with all this inflamation in the first place.

but as you say on here one thing can migrate to another and everyone seems to be different in which other problems this inflamatory disease can give

it appears to me that this thing at the outset knew which parts of my body was the weakest links.

I think Summer is right and you will help yourself most by quitting smoking. The medical profession do quite reasonably blame things on this with smokers. I know its hard but I had to lose 4 stone for same reason and still keep on trying so that doctors can't dismiss things as being weight related with me anymore. On the other hand its made me wonder if a lot of stuff was weight related and now I'm so much fitter and healthier perhaps the RA symptoms may have lifted I'm always wondering. I'll find out soon and suspect the answer is no!

If you can completely quit I really think it would help with your attempts to keep off statins. Tilda xx

Have you any tips for losing weight I have 3 stone to lose, have put the weight on since the steroids and inactivity.I find myself drinking lots of tea and of course munch on a biscuit.

Thats good news but smoking and high cholesterol are bad news two out of three risk factors is better than three out of three I HAVE ONE out of three and im not happy about that. we have lots of heath problems so anything we can do to find/give ourselves one less problem is to our benefit x

John,I'm not going to lecture you about giving up smoking as you already know my opinion on that. If it is circulation problems then it is better caught now while there is a good recovery chance rather than end up in hospital with more serious problems. This could be the warning you need to sort your health out john so you can go on and live a long life with that motorbike of yours because the other alternative will be in a wheelchair with bits missing from your body. THis way now you can sort it out yourself. Sylvia.xxx

Hiya John, well you know i know how hard it is to give up.But try speaking to your Gp and see what support they can give you, There are so many things they can prescribe to you if this doesn't work ,I know with everything you are going though it is not going to be easy, but take one week at a time, even if it takes you months to do it, just keep trying, and i know you will get there in the end, xxxxx

yes had 5 fags yesterday

bit booring isnt it but thats good for me took some asprin last night

feet started normalising a bit last night to thought here we are they are going to go cold but they didnt.

had a walk up and down this morning with a few twinges in the back

thought oh no not another place starting off i have enough with feet and ankles and knees annd hands

if only i had left the knee as it was it was a lot better than when they whent in it some how

how are you any better of the meds yet/

because its cold not going to caravan going to go out for dinner on sunday looking forward to that

if only i could get round better but dont want to push it through the pain barrier.
