Well i'm still wearing the splints, even though the night time one is not the easiest to wear. Yesterday i went to have my hair coloured and my daughter came and had hers done as well. She had her nearly waist lengh hair cut too her shoulders and it looks great. i had red put in my hair and it too looks good.
It has been blowing a gale all night and the wind forced me to shut the bedroom window. Still haven't finished putting up the deccies, but i'm getting there. Lights will go today even if i haven't finished putting them up.
I'm at the dentist today. So as long as the weather is not so windy i'll be going over on my super duper scooter.
Hope every one has a good day.

Forgotten to mention, whilst I was out, on the way back from the hospital I got most of the packaging material to send the chrimbo presents to the family. WH smith are selling 2 for 3 offer on all packaging and envelopes etc., at the moment.
All I have to do now is package it up and hubby will take to post office and send them off. Still got to write chrimbo cards, this yr I will get son to help with that now. Still need to get hubby a surprise pressie, then I am done.
I've got cards to write which is hard work for me,but i'm plodding on with them. Hubby is working now. The new drug he's been given has seemed to work, thank goodness. If the finances work out right next week he will be giving in his notice to retire. He will give have to give six months notice, but thats workable for him.
I'm running out of steam again,i never learn, but i so want my deccies up as it cheers me up so much. I've been to the dentist this morning and i got a clean bill of health this time.Had to have a clean and polish, but i'm happy.
My house looks like a tip until i get all the stuff put away. Let me know what hubbys into and i'll try and come up with some ideas for you. Two heads are better than one.
I'm going to lay down in my chair and read the papers and try and rest.
Love to you and your family.
xxxx
Pleased hubbies drug is working.. your hair looks great.. even festive.
It will be nice for him to retire and you can enjoy time together x
Hope so,we'll see.My daughter had hers cut as well. We have an allotment that will keep him busy and hopefully if i cannget someting to sit on i can go down and help him. xxx
Oh Sylvi!! I love the hair. Doesnt it make you feel better? I love make overs. I really do. I need a new hair style! I usually wear it short and sort of spikey on top. Since joint replacement on my wrist this past August I havent done anything at all to it, But I am looking around! Every morning I try my best to do my hair and apply make up. I might not go any where (usually I dont get out much) but I do this for me. It makes me feel a little better. I love this time of the year, except the cold weather. Tonight is to be in the low 20's. I do not do well in cold. You guys do not know exactly what it feels like to come to this site and be able to talk with you, share laughter, get understanding and support. LOVE IT!!! Have a wonderful night. Love to all. Linda
Linda, You always sound so much like me! I had my haircut shorter, kind of spikey on top, this summer. Then let it grow out just a little so it would be just right for my son's wedding in October.
I do my hair and makeup every day. I would not, could not go out to get the mail wiithout atleast my lipstick and a little blush! Certainly never go to the grocery store "undone" You never know when you will meet someone you know!
I feel so much better knowing I look normal. If I meet someone and they say" you look wonderful" then I feel wonderful.
Actually, I start a day very slowly, with my coffee and the pain meds trio. Can't get moving until they are working. Takes about an hour and a half. Then I'll do my hair and face and by the time I'm dressed, I am usually ready to attack my to-do list.
I need you to tell me all about your wrist joint replacement. How does it work for you? Can you bend it? I have been suggested a fusion on my rt. wrist, but I'd be afraid it wouldn't move. Hope you have had good results.
I cannot stand this cold weather either.. In fact, I dread this entire season! I am confined, unless I can make plans with someone to go somewhere. So in the winter, I get really frustrated and depressed and lonely. I talk to my friends on the phone, a little bit online, and then I will invite them to come over for lunch usually. We put things together for lunch, then may watch a movie, or play Scrabble. Whatever we do, we laugh! That is so therapeutic.
Enjoy the weekend, go get your hair done, like Sylvia's! Might as well do nails too. Loret
Linda,i don't do anything with it,i just wash it and leave it. My hands are not that good.My hairdresser cuts it so i don't have to touch it . With it this short it curls naturally on its own, this makes it easier to manage. My nails i have done once every three weeks, this time they are red and silver with glitter on them. When i go on the 20th i'm hoping to have santas and xmas trees put on them.
Its very cold here in the midlands and i'm not very clever this morning. My tinitus is going crazy in my ears and my hands are sore as well. I feel like my head is going is bunged up and my right side which has the ra in it is not good this morning. I've took my tablets so we'll see how i am after they kick in.
I agree with you about this site, its great and enjoyable too. Its uplifting as well. I can say what i feel and my frustration as well. Some one will always have an answer to any questions we have and they can put us on the right path.
I assume you don't live in england, where do you live? Don't mind me if i can't remember as my head is fuddled today. Mind you its like that a lot of the time with all the drugs i take!!!
TAke care,
Love sylvi. xx
I too have my nails done, I was thinking red with gold tips for my Christmas ones but I may go wild and have them like you plan too x
Can you tell me exactly what is involved in the splinting process sylvi?
As my middle finger is the worst for cramping & painful all the time, even when I try to eat & my Dr said I could have it splinted, but that was a while ago & he did not elaborate on the process.
love the fact you are having xmas trees painted & sparkles on your nails!..I used to hate drawing attention to my hands, but it is so nice to be pampered as cant do them myself.
I have just had my long hair cut short like judi Dench cos I cant style it very well any more & holding the hairdryer was making my shoulder ache, so now i wash & go & its great!
Laney the dentist gave me a clean bill of health thank goodness. I might have to have a filling next time i go,but as thats not until june i will be in a better frame of mind.
Thank you for liking my blogs,i never know what i'm going to write until i start it. I do try to be optimistic and try to cheer others up as i well know how hard it is. Looking at your photo you have long hair why don't you get some more colours in it. My hairdressers use illumin as its a permament colour, and it doesn't fade as much either. Mine goes 8 weeks then i can notice a difference. You look lovely by the way. xxx
Splinting my hands. It keeps my fingers together and give support to my wrist as well. The best way of saying its like having a plaster on your wrist. The splint can be taken off. I have a stiffer one for night time use. That one is supposed to rest my hand. I have tubi-grip on then the splint.
The thing with my nails they will be peel on ones. The nails are a plain colour then glitter painted on afterwards. The look really good and its a cheats way of looking good. I have the same trouble with the hairdryer as well thats why i have it a bit shorter so i don't have to bother too much with it. I had five colours put in as well just to lighten things up a bit..
thanks sylvi- that photo was taken about 3 months before i got sick with r.a- its a year since got diagnosed, and now i have half the head of hair i used to have due to it falling out from the mtx injections! its all horrible now but fingers crossed it will go back o the way it was some time in the future!! i doubt it tho! glad the dentist gave you the all clear have a lovely day x
Sylvia, you are looking very fine and chipper today. Love your hair color
It is very cold and blustery here today, also grey, ugly, dark and damp. You could not go out on your scooter today here. The wind would blow you across the street!!
I FINISHED THE TREE LAST NIGHT!!!!! Now I just have the rest of the decorations sitting in the guest room to do something with. I will try to post a picture on Facebook. Don't know how to put one here. Need you instructions
Its not too warm here either, Its windy and not very nice this weekend. i'm not sleeping very well either. I've nearly finished the decorations, just got to put more tinsel up and bob is going to put the last lot of lights up outside today.
Now this facebook thing: you know where it says whats on your mind, click into that,it says add photo, click that and it will bring your library of photos up, check which photo you want, click that then double click on your right hand part of your mouse and it will come up with a block of words, you need to right click where it says cut, then you can go back to your face book page and then in whats on your mind, double click the right hand side on your mouse and then when it comes up double click on paste, then you just need to add your words. Hope this works for you. Try it and let me know how you get on,if not my daughter will try and guide you through it.
I've not had a good night, been up and down all night. I overdid it again yesterday. My fault i know as i wanted to get all the deccies up. I went up the village as well. At the end of the day i'm absolutely shattered, but its nearly done now and i will post some photos for you to look at.
Morning Sara,i hope your asleep while i'm writing. As normal i'm downstairs at 5.30 am, don't know what it is with me waking up at that time of day,i digress. I hope you will put a photo of your new hair so we can all admire you. Mines done in a salon which is not cheap i can tell you. This time i think it cost me about £65 but the pleasure it brings me far outways the cost, someone will comment to me either on my hair or nails, and by talking to me they force me to speak to them which in my mind is no bad thing. This last 2 years i have become rather isolated,a lot of it due to my condition as i'm not as active as i used to be and i can't work anymore which doesn't help.
So sara i'm waiting to see a photo, take care, Sylvi. xx
