.......before my wrist surgery on Monday and then about a month off to recover. Getting a bit nervous now but looking forward to a bit of R&R from being a working Mum! I have the box set of Downton Abbey to work through while I'm off.

Rest up and let us know how it goes.
Gina.
Not at all prepared Allanah - got totally overtaken with work!! Still here now - should have left an hour and a half ago, been here since half seven and now it's half five and I'm still not done!
Thanks all for your kind thoughts.
xx
Best of luck for Monday.
Don't feel guilty when you are sitting watching Downton Abbey - the more your wrist is rested, the quicker it will get over the op.
Once again, best of luck we will be thinking of you.

Good luck for Monday RM. Once it is over, rest up as much as you can. They may give you some exercises to do to strengthen the wrist as well. Enjoy Downton Abbey - a fantastic series and miles better than the new Upstairs Downstairs on the Beeb. Don't over do it afterwards and think you can walk before you can run! Let others wait on you for a change. Love LavendarLady x
Thanks - I am looking forward to the Downton Abbey viewing - so many people raved about it and I really felt I'd missed out so my sister in law lent me her set.
Just as you go, I am trying to return. Best I can do is encourage you to take the pain meds before you feel desperate for them, they might be for every 4 hours, but they sure don't last 4 hrs. lucky to be effective for 2, 21/2.
i will be returning to cleveland monday, for dressing change, xrays and then see the surgeon. have a hard cast now, not sure if it will be another one. my handicap is not being able to get around with my walker, since can't hold on. so got my power chair ch
arged up to get from point A to point B typing with left hand is a challange i'll accept.
today, day 4 post op, was better, pain wise. moving the arm is the worst, so don't try that for a few days.
kitchen activities are so amusing!! opening the milk half gallon was testy. got the lid off, after cindy had loosened the cap, then there was that round disc sealer stuck to the lip of the jug. talk about over kill! finally got it off. then there is the lunch meat from the deli, sealed in a resealable baggie. yeah well, ya gotta get it unsealed before you can reseal it! took a sharp paring knife to that one.
well dahling, can't type much longer for now. just imagine yourself in your favorite place, like a peaceful lagoon, your beach chair right at the water's edge, your toes dangling in the clear blue water, your mind involved in the book in your hands, the box of chocolates chilling in the cooler, next to the wine and glass you were clever enough to pack...and then it's over! all the best of good fortune awaits you. love and hugs, Loretta
