Blooming hip

Yesterday we went down to the Cotswold to a national trust place called Snowshills. It was a manor house and it was jam packed full of one mans collection over the years before he handed it over to the National trust last century. As i could only do the ground floor there was a ipad for me to view the upstairs which i thought was very thoughtful for us disabled people. There were volunteers in every room who all knew what they were talking about. In the room i went into there was a man called Grahame who if he had been my history teacher i would have enjoyed my lessons in school. He was a font of all knowledge. He said there was a painting in this room and he spoke to Dutch people telling them that he didn't know who the painting was of and they put him right saying he was master o9f the Dutch navy in days gone past. I told him about a chest that he didn't know what it was four i told him it was a marriage chest where a bride to be put her linens and cutlery in before her marriage. It was very interesting and we enjoyed ourselves there very much. I was in my scooter most of the time except when i went into the house and they supplied a wheelchair to use.

After some lunch we went to Blockley where Father Brown was filmed the sad thing is we couldn't get into the church. We had a lovely time there and we didn't get home until nearly 6pm and by then i was absolutely shattered and my hip was so blooming painful.

I spent last night down here after coming down here at 2am and i took some Oramorph then and when i got up this morning. I am in a lot of pain again and i have no idea when i will get the results from the x-ray as they say it could be nearly 17weeks before they come through and i said to the receptionist at the surgery your having a laugh. She said she wish she was. I don't know how i am going to manage until the x-ray shows wants wrong with me.

So here i am in a lot of pain in my right hip. Have a lovely day each and everyone of you. xxxxxx

Glad you had a great day out. Some of the people in those NT rooms are amazing as you’ve found out. Hope your hip pain wears off soon, let’s hope it isn’t too long before you get the X-ray results. It’s all very depressing how long things take at the moment.

Although so far you have managed to get an appointment, see a doctor and had an X-ray - all things considered the way things are at the moment you’re doing not to bad. All you need now is your results. 🤞

Well at least you would get X-ray results straight away but that’s a bit of a drastic way to do it. Look after yourself - especially now that it’s getting cold xxx

Our old GP told my mum to fall off a step to get a new hip. She didn't but so far at 71 I have no bone issue and think I'm very lucky. One thing to think about it can an Osteopath help and I thought years go I'd done my hip it hurt so bad I went to A&E as it was hard to even walk a few steps. The doctor examined me and I thought the couch was a bit sweaty and he said you've got Shingles. And he admitted me for 5 days. So be careful don't break it and hopefully the results will come through quicker if there is anything that can be done. xx

Glad you had a lovely day Sylvi but sorry for your hip. It does take its toll when you’re travelling and sitting still too for lengths of time. I’m just recovering from a holiday in coastal Wales a couple of weeks ago. The journeys there and back were long on many A roads but the amazing scenery and fantastic week of weather lifted our souls.

I’ve always wanted to be an NT volunteer in one of my local NT places and hope after my hubby retires next year we can do volunteer work part time together. As long as I could perch/use a stool intermittently I’d be fine. I’d love to do the art history (I am qualified to do that) and asked someone in an NT house in Cornwall a few years ago what qualifications do you need to do it and she said .. you don't, you just have a general interview. After a chat with her she said … would you like to work here? I said I’d love to thanks, but I live 7-8 hours drive away!! 😄

I too always love to see/hear about the art and history in these places. My hubby and I have been NT members for 43 years now and we joined the year after we met. We were laughed at by some of his family for being “old in your 20s” (no, just cultured!!) but we felt very much like they were missing out! They spent their Saturdays in a busy city centre shopping for clothes or in a pub. Each to their own, but they should not have criticised us. (Why we rarely ever told them anything, sadly.)

Hope your X-ray comes through quicker than they said. Hope you are finding your op has helped your breathing and fatigue. Lots of love, dear lady.

🩷x

Glad to see you had a great day out - problem is that when it happens you pay the price of pain. Hope the hip settles and that you get it sorted soon.

Thank you all very much to your kind comments. I will try and ring the drs again tomorrow to see if they are back. I will ring every week until they are through if i don't end up in A&E before they come through. xxxx
