Hi I hope everyone has enjoyed the nice weather we had in the UK over the weekend.I was trying to enjoy the nice weather on Monday and went out into back garden to see what my son was doing as he has been doing a great job at sorting out the overgrown bushes from my neighbors garden for me. When my foot decided to give way on me and I landed with a thump. I ended up sat there with my legs crossed like I was a little girl in school assembly not knowing if I wanted to laugh or cry. I put up with the pain for the rest of Monday and rested my ankle and hip for the rest of the day as it was killing me but I gave up yesterday dinner time and went to a+e to get checked out. The nurse seemed abit funny with me when she was examining me and there was a definite change in her when she asked if had had trouble with my hip before and I replied yes I have a screw in it as I suffered from a slipped femoral epiphysis when I was younger. After 6 x-rays it turns out I have only soft tissue damage to my hip and ankle but nurse thinks I have broke a bone on the underside of my foot as there is a definite step in the bone so I have a lovely new boot to wear and I am waiting for fracture clinic to review the x-ray and decide what needs to be done.

Enjoying the nice weather

It is not fun is when we fall is it darling. You can laugh afterwards, but at the time you could cry. I hope it isn't broken for your sake darling. Hugs.xxx
Fingers crossed it will be ok. I think what makes it worse was the nurses attitude before the x-rays I could tell she thought I was wasting her time she had no idea about the medication I am on I understand they can't know about everything and I have just been moved on to amjevita from humira but she had no idea at all about biologics I have her the card that I got in the welcome pack which she looked over and said oh so what is it an anti inflammatory.yhere was a definite change in her attitude when she saw me after she had looked at the x-rays like I want to sit in a+e for over 3 hours because I fell
Hi lynz
So sorry you were so badly received at first at A&E, ridiculous. I had a big boot on for seven weeks in 2016, avulsion fracture of cuboid bone in foot after I slipped and fell with foot twisted under me on cobbles.
We had overcast weather north of the border but dry, not complaining! Good you had help with bushes etc.
May you soon recover from the fall. 🙂
I've been so lucky as I don't use my stick in the garden and twice I have tumbled but not badly. I wish you a speedy recovery.
Thankfully I've only fallen on one occasion, when I was coming down a short flight of garden steps I lost my balance and toppled sideways ending up flat on my back in a small bushy shrub which thankfully broke my fall, so no injuries bar for a few scratches. No way could I get back up so had to shout for my wife who, with quite a struggle, helped me back to my feet while calling me a silly sod for not holding onto something when coming down those steps like she'd told me to do in the past. Wives uh...who'd 'ave 'em!
Oh flip but that's bad luck and I'm sorry you had your fall. I do hope you have no fractures. A big boot in this weather is an accessory you could have done without
Glad you don't appear to be seriously injured, it's bad enough though!.. plus a fall can really shake you up! Hope you recover soon.
Not good at all Lynz hope you heel quick and no dancing 💃 in the meantime xxx
