i have a medactiv cool bag, which kept my injections below the required 8 degrees for my 12 hour journey. You can get it now with a digital thermometer incorporated into it.

Thank you so much for taking the time to reply. I have heard about that make and that they are very good. Will definitely look into this bag and esp the one with a built in thermometer. Appreciate your reply! ๐Ÿ˜Š

I have a larger medactiv bag that works well. Expensive, but itโ€™s my health so worth it.

I agree, they are expensive, but for longer trips it gives you the reassurance it will stay at temperature, which you donโ€™t get with the frio wallets. You get what you pay for, I believe. ๐Ÿค—

If you wanted to keep your drugs between 2-8 degrees a frio wallet won't be cold enough.

Hi I donโ€™t think Frio packs keep our injections cold enough. I once bought one after someone suggested them but it wasnโ€™t suitable.

Frio wallets are not cool enough for biologics,

Some injections can be left out of the fridge for about a month before use (eg Imraldi) . This may be an option too? (They canโ€™t be re- refrigerated afterwards though).

Imraldi can only be out of the fridge for 14 days not 28. I'm on enbrel and that can be out for 28 days.

It definitely is 28 days (at 25c max) Iโ€™m on it and have just double checked the PIL.

The point I was making is itโ€™s good to check the patient information leaflet (PIL) as sometimes there is a period of time they can be kept out and it can make travelling much less stressful!!

I have just googled this (see photo), but on other sites it says 28 days, conflicting info. So I really don't know. I've got a friend who's on humira (imraldi is the biosimilar to it) her fridge broke down and she could only keep one injection and had to bin the rest. I'm wondering now if they've recently changed the advice.

Tbh Iโ€™m pretty sure the nurse that did my home visit told me 28 days although the rheumatology nurse thought it was 14 days too until she looked it up. The patient information leaflet from the manufacturer is probably the most accurate and up to date source

I use one of these, they do do some that keeps the drug cold for a longer peroid of time but are more expensive, I think that if you by them direct you don't have to pay the VAT with it being for medical use, check before you order.

I have a coolmeds bag. Ok for trips in Europe but not for 15 hours. I didn't buy one as my trip to NZ didn't go ahead but someone on this site recommended a 4Allfamily flask. Try their website perhaps?

There is some on the market that says more than 15 hours, expensive though.

Hi I have one that the hospital supplied about 20 years ago when Biologics were a new thing. Most lit from the reps. It keeps mine cool for about 12 hours.

I have however been involved with Medigenics to make a larger Cool Meds bag to fit my Abatacept pens which donโ€™t fit in their smaller bag. They are expensive though. Itโ€™s worth looking on their website.

Hi bought my daughter a Voyager Cooler from 4ALLFamily. It looks like a slightly larger metal water bottle. It holds 5 adalimumab injections. It comes with a battery pack so you keep injections between 2-8 degrees when you travel. But you can plug it into the mains as well. You can also plug it into the usb connection In airport and on flight. My daughter was doing 2 flights with a two hour stop over between so a total of 20 hrs travelling. It is expensive but totally worth it. The company were really helpful too.

Sorry to bother you, but I have researched the Voyager and it seems to suit my needs. Would you be able to tell me the exact model you bought as I see there are different ones. Also the site is quoting in USA dollars, did you buy direct from them? I live in Uk. Appreciate your help with this ๐Ÿ˜Š

my husband says there is only one voyager but diff colours. We bought direct from USA to the UK. All went smoothly. They cannot ship the battery pack but advised us which one and we bought it on Amazon. Iโ€™ll try to send a photo of the box.

Thank you so so much. Really do appreciate the reply and the image. I have been in touch with the company and their customer service seems very good. The same product is on Amazon but a lot more expensive than buying direct as the price is quoted in American Dollars. Thank you so much!

Hi, really sorry to trouble you again, but was wondering if you were charged VAT and import duty on the cooler? Just trying to work out where it would be best buying from Amazon, which is about ยฃ80. More expensive than direct?

Appreciate your help with this. Thank you!
