Steroid injection

Had this yesterday. The pain in my right foot is not as bad but everywhere else is the same if not worse. Got achy wrists and ankles.

I do however, have a bit more energy and managed to cook a roast dinner yesterday evening!! Dinner on steroids 😂💪 It was the least I could do to make sure supper was ready for my husband who went back to school yesterday - as a teacher that is!

Poor you! As you're between DMARDS at the moment your disease is running uncontrolled so I'm not surprised you're suffering. Hopefully things will improve in a day or two but until then try to take it easy and rest. No more fancy dinners for your teacher husband for the moment, may I suggest you send him out for a takeaway or get a fish and chip supper in tomorrow so you can put your feet up!

Hi I seem to recall being told that you can sometimes experience more pain just after the steroid so to rest and then it eases and you should feel the benefit. I can't remember now if that was what happened to me but I know it helped me feel better and more energy... hope that helps a bit...

You can have what's called a steroid (or cortisone) flare, can be common after general steroid injections. They usually only last a day or two then hopefully you'll feel the benefit elsewhere. What you should do though is rest, even though you feel like superwoman at the mo you need to let the med do it's work, & that means fighting against the other positive side effect of energy it's provided! So no more big dinners for now, I’d suggest a chippy do tonight. 😉
