Hi just had my second injection but still in pain with my right hip. I was diagnosed with PsA 2years ago and have been on a long journey to get to this stage. Just reduced prediselone to 5 mg and can really tell the difference. Sleep is difficult (I write this at 03.48) and tired all day, The steroids have given me cataracts and I will need to come off the benepali when I have the operation. The psoriasis has been bad especially in the scalp. Still trying to stay positive, I am a young 63 year old, any one similar, Amanda

I am 60 years old, taking Enbrel which I believe is similar to benepali, and though my official dx is RA, my new rheumatologist thinks I actually have PsA.

With the Enbrel, my dr said it can take up to 3 months for the full effect, so be encouraged that may get better the longer you use it. I have to take azathioprine with my Enbrel so it can help my liver function normally and that seems to take care of my scalp psoriasis.

Besides pain, your sleeplessness could also be due to the steroids. I have another week on them due to a root canal and I was up today at 4 am. They give me strange dreams too so I’ll be glad to be done with them. But agree that the pain and fatigue are much less with them. I hope your biologic starts working better for you.

I have PSA as well, but only diagnosed last year. Before that they said many types of arthritis. I am on Humira, Methotrexate and steroids. I was on Benepali last year. I am very confused as I have always been in pain so said the Benepali wasn't working and it was stopped. I saw my rheumatologist Wednesday and told him of all my pain and said was I supposed to be pain free and he said that the Humira and Methotrexate are to slow down joint destruction and pain killers are for pain. How come some people can live near normal lives on their drugs? Now I wonder if Benepali was working after all.
