Hi all , I’ve been injecting Cimzia for 18 months now for RA , I’m so tired like extremely tired all the time , I sleep really well but wake up exhausted, has anyone else suffered this , I’m currently having blood tests done to see if I’m lacking in anything

I'm just wondering if your disease is under control as I had that problem last month really bad fatigue but I also had burning joints as well and rheumatology said it was because my Ra wasn't under control I would give them a ring

My joints are fine , I feel so good apart from the tiredness, are you ok now ?

No still struggling I'm on Benepali Methetrexate and they've added Sulfazalasine a month ago but no change but I'll give it another couple off weeks then tell them I need something else , hope you get the sleep pattern sorted xxx

Cimzia has relieved all my joint pain it’s just this exhaustion that’s bringing me down

This sounds just like how I feel, my joints are so much better, but I am so tired , I sleep ok most nights , but I can have up to 5 hours a day sleep in bed too if I’ve been busy, I have my 10 month old granddaughter Monday and Wednesday with my husbands help, from 9 till 30 , as soon as she goes I go to bed for a rest slept for 4 hours after she went.

Oh jools you sound just like me , have you asked anyone about it or like me struggled on , it’s like they’ve got rid of one problem and replaced it with another 😢

No they just said at hospital fatigue is part of rheumatoid arthritis. I’m usually ok but when we go on holiday usually cruising I am ok one day then the next day I have to stay in my cabin sleeping while my husband goes off without me. but at least I’m not in as much pain . I don’t think doctors take fatigue seriously.

Hi waterend

I am exactly like this waking tired Which steadily worsens as the day goes. I need to take a sedative to help me sleep.

I had bloods that found my vitamin D level was low in March. I feel better for a few weeks but fatigue begins to develop over the next few months. I have been given a high dose Vit D and usually have a blood test a couple of weeks after I finish.

So it could be your vitamin D level low that causing your tiredness. The low Vitamin D has happened for the last 3 years. Have tried tablets and they don’t help.

I spent a night away from home last week and forgot to take my sedative. I didn’t sleep a wink so very tired the next day. I need to continue to take my sedative as I was thinking to slowly reduce over the next few months.

Sorry for the long message

Hope you find out what is causing your tiredness and you feel better soon.

Hi I have the Cimzia injection too and have done for a similar length of time. I go to bed early and wake early. I suppose I would say I'm exhausted but as I have to go to work in a school I don't have time to think about it tbh. I take a load of vits alongside my meds which I feel helps. Hopefully your blood test will show what's going on - might be b12 or vit d deficient? Let us know how you get on.

Gosh how do you do it , I work 3 mornings and I’m exhausted, it’s definitely Cimzia , it must take something out of our bodies , apart from tiredness I feel great x

As a long term user of Cimzia I don't think it is the Cimzia. Fatigue is a common symptom of RA. Fatigue is generally a sign that RA is not fully controlled.

But I don’t have any swelling , heat or pain

RA is complex and can affect the body in many different ways. I think you would be best discussing this with your Rheumatology team.

I’m in the process of lots of blood test then if clear rheumatology

I suppose we all find our way... I love seeing the kiddlewinks everyday- they keep me in my toes! Yes, it hurts but I'd rather be there than at home. When I was off for 6 months I got stir-crazy 🙃🤓

I used to be on Cimzia but unfortunately it didn't work for me, many joints flared up and I was stiff every morning. As fatigue is a side effect of the RA just make sure the meds are definitely working for you.

I'm now on tocilizumab but fatigue is still terrible. I complained to my rheumatologist but unfortunately there's not much they can do, they just suggest you stay active which is easier said than done!!!

Just to let you know I suffered with terrible fatigue on Cimzia. Since I have been put on Orencia fatigue has gone unless I overdue stuff. Lol.
