Anyone who uses Cimzia when did you start to get relief I’m in so much pain and I’m on week 10 I feel like giving up ☹️

Hi. Obviously we're all different . I ve been on Cimzia for 8 yrs and its worked well for me . I can't remember how long it took to start working but I remember starting to see some improvement quicker than I was expecting to. I was bad before I started on it. This is what it says in the patient guide booklet I have. I hope it starts to work soon for you. Oh- I'm also on 10mg of methotrexate too-reduced from 20 pre cimzia .

Easier said than done, but try to stick with it a bit longer .

thank you I’m just losing hope as nothing is working and I can’t even take naproxen as it’s irritated my stomach

It's 10 years since I started and I'd been on MTX and Sulfasalazine for three years already. If I remember rightly it took about four months to feel the first noticeable benefits and another two to make a big difference. CIMZIA was the drug that helped me get control over my life with RA and still does. I hope it will work for you as well.

Same for me- I was on mtx and sulf , but it took about 6 yrs before they stopped working for me. Cimzia has given me a new lease of life.

hi so now are you only on Cimzia ? I just want to give up I’m a nurse I work in the hospital and everyday when I wake up I’m worried what my pain is going to be like ☹️

I'm still on 10 mg of methotrexate as well . The biologics nurse suggested stopping it but I decided not to risk it. Maybe I should have .

I was so bad before Cimzia that I could barely perform personal care tasks. I remember often being in tears , wondering if that was it for the rest of my life.

Could you call your rheumatogy helpline and see what they suggest to help with the pain. Or could your gp help? It seems to me that you could do with a bit of medical support.

If you find that , ultimately its not for you, there are other biologics available that your consultant can try. But try to give it a bit longer.

Hi thanks for replying, So in that 4 months we’re you struggling ? As atm I’m unable to walk properly and it’s really affecting my mobility my whole body is aching. Also is it normal to have sore throat whilst using Cimzia?

Hi, I wasn't struggling as badly as you seem to be because MTX and Sulfasalazine had already lowered my joint inflammation. I was walking with a limp, in pain and had to wear wrist guards to enable me to hold and lift things. Can't say anything about sore throat. We all react differently.

Cimzia didn’t work for me but I had to do the 12 weeks , and then they tried another drug .

Good Luck , in all I tried 5 drugs until 2 new knees later the 5th one worked x

Cymzia is working well for me, for 18 months now, I take no other drugs as I had tried most of them and had really bad side effects. If I remember correctly it had started to work at the end of the 'loading dose'. For me this has restored my life, I hope it will eventually work for you too.

Actually, now you mention it , I think it might have been around the same time it started working for me.

I started Cimzia about 10 yrs ago after 25 yrs of agony and total destruction of my feet and hands. I’m still on 15 mgms methotrexate but cimzia worked within 24 hrs it was as though someone had waved a wand. Sorry to hear yours is taking longer . My cousin’s wife is on Rituximab a different biologic as she couldn’t tolerate most of the oral drugs and that works for her well but didn’t work for me. Keep on with it and there are so many more drugs to try nowadays.
