Hey Flirty I took the cimzia injections I never had any side effects from it. However I’m sorry to say it did not help me any. But I’m a hard case. Many of the RA drugs have failed for

Me. We are actually going back through all the drugs I have taken before trying to see if maybe one will work now. I’m sure you will do fine with it. Hang in there it’s all trial and error. Hugs

Peggy

Sorry to hear about your experience. I have only ever minimal side effects from Cimzia and it has worked well for me.

I am curious, what side effects have you had? As I understand it most people tolerate it well.

Have you tried contacting your Rheumatology team for advice and support. If you don't have a number the switch board at the clinic used by the Rheumatologist who prescribed the Cimzia should be able to help.

I was given a Biologic alert card which has a contact number for the Rheumatology dept at the hospital my specialist works in.

Please talk to someone if your side effects are bad. Don't suffer in silence. The benefit of any drug must out way any problems.

Hi, I trialed this drug in 2015 and had a few side effects...foggy brain, sluggish and generally in a daze my husband would say! I was on it for 4 years alongside methotrexate and it worked for my RA very well indeed... In November last year it stopped working as I had become immune to it. I'm now on Benapali and feel great.

Give it a bit longer and see what happens. Stay well. These drugs are all very powerful and can be scary and frightening... If they help with the pain and discomfort this condition brings, they are very advantageous. What a dilemma we all have to face.

Hi , what side effects have you had?

It have made me nauseaous but other than that I am ok. I am putting up with feeling sick as it’s better than pain. I have tried to speak to my rheumy about it but have been told there are no side effects from Cimzia !!!!

But like I say at least I can move with out hurting so that’s a bonus for me

My tips: the syringe should be out of the fridge for at least 30 minutes, I inject straight after a shower as the alcohol wipes can cause irritation, you should wait 30 secs before injecting. This advice was from the nurse who came to train me.

Try to inject under the skin rather than into muscle, I got a tender swelling when I injected into my thigh ( I am slim and cycle regularly).

These days I rotate my injections round my navel. The only slight side effect is a blanching of the skin around the injection site.

I hope it goes well.

I use a traditional syringe rather than a pen device.
