Will you tell your Hospital about Healthcare at Home please.

I have informed my Consultant at the Hospital about the terrible service from Healthcare at Home and she is now looking into the problem. The Hospital Pharmacy phoned today and told me they are contacting all patients receiving deliveries from HAH and asking about their individual experiences. Please contact your hospital and complain. If we do nothing the problem will just continue or maybe even get worse. There is too much stress on sick people already to let this dreadful situation continue.

As mentioned in another post I will be informing my hospital on Monday when I see my rheumy nurse.

would be a good idea to make sure PALS (or the CAB NHS liaison person if you are in Scotland) also get a copy of your complaints - and put them in writing, as they then do have to respond.

I agree, and would join the campaign, but at moment have had to ask for a change of hospital, as totally dissatisfied with my present hospital that does not seem capable of keeping their specialists. so being left to just get on with it, even though I shall be travelling 34 miles to my next hospital instead of 17 miles. but if I am sent any forms about hah, will certainly fill these out. bluetit33

Hi.

Informed my rheumatology nurse and hospital pharmacy , they both state many patients experiencing problems with Health Care at Home. I've had over ten days of aggravation from health care at home after they let me run out of meds.

All patients receiving meds form H at H in the West Yorkshire area received a questionnaire from a lead pharmacist in Leeds asking about their recent experiences, so I do think hospitals are aware. I do hope people responded as this seemed to be a very efficient way of collating info from a large number of users of the service.

I will email my rheumy nurse as I've had loads of problems with them (seems better at the moment but maybe because I caused a huge fuss) and I've delayed doing my injections to ensure I have 'extra' left as I know I can't rely on them delivering. I think Earthwitch is right, inform PALS too as this is the official channel to go through, so if they have loads of PALS complaints this may carry some weight, so I will certainly email PALS too. The email address for PALS should be on the website for each hospital. I can't believe HAH are getting away with such dreadful service for so long - the BBC should make a Panorama programme about it!

I have copied my hospital into my complaints by email. They've thanked me, but appear unwilling to take matters further. I have not had a response from HaH, even after accusing them of clinical malpractice. They operate as though they were untouchable. They are putting peoples' lives at risk. They should not have this contract, considering the hundreds of complaints that have been made. They should not be permitted to operate to such a disgraceful standard, and would appear to be entirely unregulated. It is absolutely shocking, and these outsourced companies are only going to become more common. Their performance needs to be regulated!

I have told them and they were quite shocked. Apparently no one else had reported this to them! I might put it in writing actually.

I recently had a delivery and to be honest I was amazed that it was delivered at 9.30am after being told that it could be anytime between 8am - 6pm. I had cancelled the delivery as I had an appointment elsewhere but it came just as I was leaving.

For the last eight years I had no problems. Then about six months ago it gradually got worse . luckily it always turns up, but I check online the night before to see whattime Iits coming then plan around it.But it has been scheduled for 4-5, then I get a call in the morning saying they are outside my house. So I have to rush home. Last week it turned up at the correct time. I am hoping things are improving or it could have just been coincidence:-(
