I have had jaw pain occasionally which was believed to be linked to RA, but I can't say I've had the numbness or loss of taste.

I have suffered with a loss of appetite, but never a numbness in my month, maybe give your nurse a ring tomorrow unless someone else can enlighten you, Take Care XXX
thanks girls for your replies......xx
I have experienced an altered sense of taste & smell which I've had for over a year now. At first it was thought to be the Sulphazalazine but I stopped that for several weeks & it didn't improve.
I have had long term sinusitis problems & it was wondered if that was the cause. I don't know if it is connected to RA or not but it's not a pleasant symptom, it has improved slightly so I can now eat some chocolate & wine which initially tasted foul!
I still don't like the smell of some things, including my own body smells!
I have been fortunate to find an ENT dr who specializes in problems with taste & smell - there are only two clinics in the whole of the UK.
There are also several web groups with people who have either lost their sense of taste & smell or have altered taste & smell like me. If you want to find out more pm me & I'll give you the links.
You're not on your own!

I've lost my sense of taste and smell since RA started. I have also had a foul taste off and on and have the symptoms of Sjogrens and digestive problems so not sure what is RA or meds but u really hate this aspect of what is going on with me more than any other including pain. Xxx
I lost my appetite after taking MTX and it has remained the case always. I often have to waste food because I fancy it but cannot eat it. Appetite remains small, I wish all restaurants did "kiddie meals"!!!
This pain in the jaw was talked about last week on here.
I got it about six months after I was diagnosed. At first I thought I had an ear infection as it was sore to lay on at night. Then I thought it was my teeth, got that checked too and they were fine. So I mentioned it the next time I was with the rheumy and was told that it was common in patients with RA. Bloody nuisance it is too...... did you ever try keeping your mouth closed while yawning???? Not easy believe me. I did loose three fillings though as my left jaw moved so much to the right. My dentist was great, he knew all about RA and was able to talk to me about the different meds we be on.
Hope this helps a bit. All the best, jean.
Thanks for your replies TildaT, Whitworth & Jeanabelle......interesting read!!
