I missed two thirds of the start of this programme, but a lady had a electronic device implanted into her chest, what for I don't know. But the next bit was brill, she had RA and whatever the implant was for it cured her of her RA anybody else see this on telly? Think we all could do with a bit of that!!! Over to you.
Did anybody else see this: I missed two thirds of the... - NRAS
Did anybody else see this
What was the programme?
Was this a vagus nerve stimulator? It looks like it's been effective in trials and should be a lot cheaper than biologics.
I think it was on BBC 2 in a programme called Trust Me I'm a Doctor . Didn't see it myself. Can't find a reference to it either now. Think it was about vagus nerve stimulation trials. Will have a look again later when I have some time. Sorry I can't be more help.
You can see an interview with this women on YouTube I haven’t got the link. But maybe someone here does or look up Vegas nerve stimulation.
Charisma posted on this with a good video attached about 3 days ago if it’s the vagus nerve one

👍😊
I didn't see it but it sounds like vagus nerve thereby, hopefully actually available one day!
I found this webpage but need to see if there is proof it has helped anyone
parasym.zendesk.com/hc/en-u...
You can hire it for £39.99 a month which is a tad steep but then if it works it is worth it.
Mmmm I can see some reserch being on the cards for me on Tuesday x
I wouldn’t try it without medical supervision I were you - if you stimulate the vagus nerve ....& you don’t know what you are doing ..........you get all the symptoms of travel sickness including the vomiting because it causes vestibular disturbance in the ear.
Oh no I will research and then ask atonne of questions first! Thank you
Hi Deeb2908,
I found this on Wikipedia
This nerve may be stimulated as a diagnostic or therapeutic technique
Transcutaneous Vagus Nerve Stimulation (tVNS) was proposed by Ventureya (2000) for seizures.[3] In 2003 Fallgatter et al. published "Far field potentials from the brain stem after transcutaneous vagus nerve stimulation"[4] and in 2007 Kraus et al. did the first tVNS-fMRI study.[5] In Europe, a device was approved for seizure treatment (NEMOS by CerboMed). Although the transcutaneous method has not been specifically approved in the United States (i.e. off-label) it is legal and being investigated (and found to be effective and safe) for many conditions including:
Atrial Fibrillation[6][7]
Depression[8][9]
Diabetes[10]
Endotoxemia[11]
Memory[12]
Myocardial Infarction[13]
Tinnitus[14]
Stroke[15]
and thought it might be of interest if you are following up with Parasym device.
Also sciencedirect.com/science/a...
nemos.uk.com/patients/about... shows that the Nemos device (for treatment of epilepsy specifically) uses a different location on the ear in respect of stimulating the vagus nerve. It costs £2500 to buy.
I remember watching the programme. It was a couple of years ago. If I remember a woman in Holland had it done and all her RA symptoms vanished! Sounds good to me!
I believe this is something they are currently trialing but will not be available for several years. Results have been positive though.
I posted a video on that less than a week ago.
