Hey ...

Just thought Iā€™d post to update on my journey as Iā€™ve been on and read other peopleā€™s posts but not updated my own.

Today is day 13, cold turkey quitting. I feel so much better than what I thought I would, the cravings come and go still but I think itā€™s a mind game issue along with triggers of when I used to smoke, sometimes I still think ā€œah now itā€™s time for a smokeā€ these come and get me when Iā€™m least expecting it and I have to put up a bit of a fight but they pass quite quickly.

I feel getting up in the morning is so much easier, I really used to struggle, I would snooze the alarm 3 times and occasionally oversleep because I was shattered now I wake up before the alarm and go to sleep at night so much easier than what I did whilst I was smoking.

I have found that I can become quite snacky of foods that are really not good to be eating.. chocolate, sweets, cherry bakewells especially but Iā€™ve been making a conscious efforts to remove these and eat foods that are good instead of going for the sugar loaded treats first.

Anyway itā€™s an onwards and upwards journey and Iā€™m excited for the future.

I want to thank everyone for replies to previous posts, your replies have really helped on this journey so thank you to you all x

I m kinda doing the same thing, but itā€™s a little bit harder when you wrk for a place that has just that kinda stuff, I stoped the coffee thing cause it just gives me the craving to light one up, keep carrot and stuff like that around you

Iā€™ve been bringing coffee back in slowly because I miss it, so I might increase it just by a little bit so I can adjust and tolerate the caffeine, I seem to be doing loads better with it now.

Iā€™m still having quite powerful cravings and really have to give it some fight to move on from it but Iā€™ve achieved so much over the past few weeks that I know I wouldnā€™t light one up even if at times I think I really want to. This is a cold turkey thing because I didnā€™t want to drag it out with NRT, I just wanted a clean break from it.

My husband smokes too which sometimes can make this journey harder than what it should be (he will be quitting too at some point soon) Iā€™m hoping that I will be over the worst and I will be able to support him during his quit process hence why he hasnā€™t stopped already.

However Iā€™m proud to have made it this far and Iā€™m extremely excited for the rest of this journey of recovery... Iā€™m 33 and have smoked for 18 years, thatā€™s a lot of brain conditioning that needs to be redirected to a better place šŸ˜Š

Your doing good and thatā€™s great I quit for 3 months last time and I feel in the stress got the better big me, this time it doesnā€™t seem as bad, cold turkey is the best method, Iā€™ve been smoking sense I was 13, m husband has decided to join me now, heā€™s using patches, because heā€™s has smoked longer than I, he has to deal with a lot at wrk so Iā€™m good with it always heā€™s trying, I wish everyone all the luck in the world, let me know how it goes
