Hi all. On to day 12. The last couple of days have been hard. Being on holiday with friends who smoke doesn't make it any easier. There have been a couple of times where I have left the bar where we were having a drink because it was getting too much to take. Seeing the posts on here and that I am not the only one struggling has been a big help.

Hello Fordy. I imagine quitting while on holiday is particularly hard so very well done on getting on with it.

Congratulations on almost 2 weeks!

I've just got back from a family holiday with no smokers directly with me and I've wanted to smoke so badly.  Not craved per say just really fancied one.  I'm 6 weeks in to quitting and it's been smooth sailing for me but on holiday I could of easily had one. I think it's a natural default setting as a smoker that holidays are only enjoyed with a fag in hand.  I've thought about it this week more that the previous 5 weeks put together.

You will get through the holiday without smoking and like me you'll arrive home proud that you managed not to give in and that's another first without smoking under your belt.

Well done Levs on 6 weeks, you have a great positive attitude which is vital in our quits, good for you!

Huge well done Fordy, you should be very proud of yourself for staying strong while on holidays, that would have been very hard work!

I am actually starting to prepare myself for my holidays in August for this (although will be almost a year by then) as I know sitting out in the warm evenings having a meal with wine, watching other smokers etc... will be tough, but will get through it just like you!

Well done again!

Yep, this is a tough one.  However, a massive 'well done' for not giving in.  You are doing so very well in difficult circumstances.  Don't give up now.  You can do this - as you have already proved.

Not what you're looking for?
