Coming up my my 8 month no-smokaversary. It's surreal. I really wasnt sure when i started this journey if I would make it. There were so many bumps in the road! Nowadays I rarely think on it at all. So few smokers left that i don't even see it much. So glad to be one of them.
If you are just staring out, i promise you will be rewardedfir your struggle!

Massive congratulations. You certainly did have potholes never mind bumps in the road. I barely think of smoking too. It is amazing to me after all those years where my smoking obsession got in the way of everything. I am beginning to believe that I am finally free.
Its weird to have smoking dethroned, isn't it? Now when I see people smoking, I try to remember how I could possibly have done that 20 times a day for 25 years and I just come up blank. On rare occasion, I do like the smell for about 5 seconds but then I see how silly it looks.
The human body is amazing and resilient though. I have enjoyed seeing my blood pressure and resting heart rate plummet. Now when I am stressed, I run and it feels much more satisfying than any cigarette ever did.
Exactly. I went out a couple of weeks ago to see a band. Lots of alternative types there in their 50s and 60s. So much smoking, outside, and I was thinking how on earth did I ever think that was cool.
Smoking dethroned, guillotined and the head put up on a spike.
