5 months!

Hi Guys! I'm a few days over 5 months now! I've recently driven a 'long' distance....without any temptation! that is HUGE for me, as I loved to light up a smoke as I was driving!! I'm leaving to go visit my parents in the next few days, and I'll be flying. I packed some nicotine gum, as a safe guard for this trip, as I get very nervous still about flying. This will be my first long trip away from home, since the big quit! I have some BIG changes to deal within the next month or so, and if I can stay strong thru these changes, I'm sure I'll be able to make it thru anything!

Hope you are all doing well, and staying strong! <3

Well done! Five months smoke free is huge!

I can completely relate to the first smoke free long driving trip. I was quite anxious about it, but when it came around (about 5 months in for me as well) it actually didn’t bother me. I only had a few fleeting thoughts about smoking.

I bet you’ve overcome many challenges to get to 5 months, so use those winnings to face the changes in the next month.

Stay strong. You’ll be fine 😊

6 Months today! All is good! Survived my first smoke free vacation, and have survived SOOO much stress the last few weeks, without a puff, or a piece of nicotine gum. Gotta get thru the next 2 weeks of stress then, hopefully the Nicotine jerk will know he can't tempt me anymore! Thank you for checking on me :) Hope all is well with you too!? xoxo

oh that sounds fabulous! Vacations seem to take forever to get here, and then they are over in a blink of an eye! Hoping to get down to see my folks again before winter, and hopefully take my Hubby along this time too! Winter is so bleak, and coming so fast! My week at my parents was filled with rain 90% of the time...visiting with them is always amazing, but, this girl needs some beach time, before that white crap starts falling here!

Well, we are having the hottest weather here in Ireland in decades along with main land Europe, Rome hit 38 degrees the last day we were there and was quite uncomfortable :O Yeah, I hear ya about winter coming very fast, we may enjoy the last few weeks of it....

9 months now Dishbrat - how are you keeping?

9 months and still holding steady! The last 2 and a half months have been so stressful...my oldest son moved 1300 miles away, and my Daddy lost his battle with cancer on Oct 29, and it took every ounce of willpower not to have a smoke to 'calm' my nerves. I'd be lying if I said it was getting easier....it isn't, for me. But, like I've said before, I apply the the same 'concept' with smoking as I do for my addiction recovery...and some days it truly is one minute at a time for me. <3
