its been a while, just a quick update and hope ye are all doing good both newbies and oldies!
Coming to end of my 7th week in my new job as a cook in a local nursing home. I'm getting on grand but been a hectic few weeks covering holidays so haven't had much time to be on here trying to balance working and home life. My shifts are pretty good in that majority of them have been the afternoon tea, tea and supper meals so in from 13:00 - 19:00, 5 days a week (normally 4 days but doing extra day during holidays and could be all weekend or 1 of the days off). I'm enjoying it but it is very tough during this heatwave we have had for the last 2 months and definitely adapted to 'the heat of the kitchen' and sweating loads!! Out of our team of 8 (all women), 2 of them smoke.
Towards the end of my first day and probably with the adrenaline rush, I got a serious craving for a smoke and went outside with one of the smokers to get some air and some of the glorious sunshine during our break. As soon as she lit up and I got the smell of the smoke, I felt sick, luckily I still absolutely detest the smell
Home alone tonight as hubby on a lads night out so will try and get caught up here. Apologies for the delays in replies and milestones....
PS Booked a last minute holiday to Rome for 4 nights, didn't think I would get taking holidays with the new job, heading 7th August, can't wait, this will be our third time there, we love it

Sadly not. Too many elderly animals for that! My son is going away for 10 days with the Army Cadets though which he will love. We're planning to decorate his room while he's gone.
You’re sounding in a really good space, congratulations on your new changes with work but most importantly a fabulous trip to Rome! Sounds incredible, living in Australia can be isolating in easy access to great countries enjoy ❣️
Hey right back at ya, I was getting ready to file a missing persons complaint.. I'm glad you're getting settled at the new job...still no cigarettes....but have been upwind of a couple and didn't like it.... but I never did like anyone else's smoke in my face. NOPE all
Thanks , I'm plodding along alright, there isn't a day goes by that I don't look in here to see how others are doing... I'm almost -4000 cigarettes and breathing seems a lot less raspy, my back has Ben jacked up for weeks isn't helping ... I'm curious about having one, but I'm sure it wouldn't taste good...I'm hanging in there...
Had some stuff typed but I get to rambling and then erase

" " gotta go .. too much cigarette thinking for now
Oh Roisin I’m happy that you are doing well and I know getting adjusted to a new job it does changes your entire life .
The heat problem I totally understand I’m from Florida state it’s the hottest weather in the country and this summer is not a joke ! I can only imagine how hot is inside the kitchen .But is all good when we love what we do not matter how hard is we feel strong .
By the way one thing is not easy sometimes is when I’m leaving to go back home I feel other people smoking and is like a cloud of heat and smell condensation ,I’m not exaggerating you know ! Is ironic when I recently quit didn’t care about others smoke .and now at 1 year quit I’m starting to really hate the smell of cigarets .maybe is that I’m recovering my sense of smelling .
I’m sending you the best energy Roison ! keep that good work .😘
