Hi all, I lost my mom 14 days ago, her death shocked me as she was still healthy,I am so heart broken. In the process of mourning her death I completely forgot to continue with champix(I was almost on day 28),but I never touched a cigarrette. Should I go back to champix? considering it's been 14 days off,I am also worried the stress around my mom's passing my cause me to smoke.

Ah QueenSheba - I am so sorry to read of the passing away of your Mam - REALLY well done for not smoking - if you got over the heartache and devastation of her death and funeral, I can see you never smoking again....

I have no experience with champix but going by others previous advice here, I would suggest to start taking it again and continue it for the full duration of the 12 weeks just to help you along.

We are here for you to post anytime about anything, not just smoking related stuff...

Wishing you continued strength - be very proud of yourself as I am sure your Mam is :)

I’m so sorry to hear about your mom. Plz accept our condolences. If u haven’t had a cigarette now then u r a real strong person. I’m on 3rd month of Champix and sometimes I don’t even feel like taking them but I’m gonna finish the course. My doctor said I don’t even need to complete 3 months but I’m doing it just in case. I still get a thought once in a while abt having a cig but it passes and I’m not doing it so far. May God help u in the healing from grief.

So sorry for your sudden loss.

Stay strong my friend. I used patches so can't help. God be with you on your journey!

My heart goes to you and I hope you find the calm after such sad moments in your life .

Im very glad you are still staying quit that’s fabulous !!

In my opinion I would suggest to continue the rest of your Chantix treatment .But it all depends how secure you feel ..Even better ask you doctor to be in the safer side .Keep it up .👍👍👍
