Hello, I am almost done week 3 on champix and 15 days smoke free. I do eat every time before I take the pill. However still get sick like I drank a bottle of vodka the night before. Head hurts, feel like throwing up, it’s horrible. I am eating none stop. Which is ok. I am not sure how long I can take this? Don’t want to give up. Also what’s happens when your done the pills???

HI Leyla...Warm welcome and huge congrats on your 2 weeks total smoke free...Yes, Champix are nasty...but the symptoms is also due to the quitting...(Non stop eating)

Try and complete the whole prescription of 12 weeks and you will be home free after you stopped taking them...(Three months)

I had a terrible quitters flu when I stopped but only lasted two days and after recovered from that it just went better and better....I never craved a cigarette after I stopped taking Champix...and never since..and it is so nice...!

Champix really helped me to quit because I wanted it to help me...!

You can do it...Stay strong !

Sorry to hear you're having such horrible side effects. Do you take it with a whole glass of water? I think that can help with the nausea. Well done on almost reaching 3 weeks!

Hi Layla and congratulations ! Things will get better day by day just make sure as the box says do not consume alcohol while taking this pill .

Huge welcome to our community Leyla and congratulations on almost 3 weeks smoke free!

I have no experience with champix as stopped cold turkey and heading towards 3 years smoke free but others above have given you good advice especially about taking it them for the full 12 weeks, after that you are on your own to remain smoke free, but if you feel you are not ready, you could see if you could get the prescription extended by discussing with your doctor, but you should be ok to embrace this and attack with everything you have. Champix only takes the edge of withdrawal, you still experience all the other symptoms as if going cold turkey and YOU are doing all the hard work not the champix.
